Not even close to being legendary. Also about the time a bunch of weapons and higher valuable packages went missing an several ups employees were caught by multiple federal agencies in a theft ring
That bar is also worth over double what it cost in 2020. Why someone would have a 1kg gold bar is same reason people buy silver / gold bullion from 1/20th of an ounce through 1000 oz bars and larger. As a hedge and alternative currency unit.

link?
the bar is worth the same. the dollar is more worthless. my point is 1kg seems a little ridiculous for an individual. 1ozs are easier to work with.

Look on kitco on the gold prices over time. During that timeframe gold ranged from 1500-2000 an ounce.
You’d be surprised there’s many people that keep kilos or larger of various precious metals. They aren’t hard to flip / use if you know where/how.
Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
not sure what you mean by "flip"
TravelnMedic@reddit
Use, trade, alternative form or currency / credit.

What I find amusing about this heist is that what was stolen wasn't some stupid shit only crackheads would take, like a cat converter, which requires a shitload of post processing.
secondly Im not sure what possesses a person to buy gold in a 1 KG format. the reality is nobody actually transacts in gold. to take advantage if its store of value qualities, youd have to sell... so if you want to do so, youd have to grind bits of it off... or sell it all at once. shitty either way. so either the guy was really just that rich... or kind of delusional
thirdly how tf did the shipping go down? Ive never bought that much gold at once nor would I want that amount shipped. maybe he was that rich but still... typically its an unmarked, much larger box. it seems the retarded ppl working at the apartment wouldnt let the delivery hand deliver. probably some bs about using some gay lockers. the news article claims it was supposed to ve delivered directly to the person but I dont believe thats true. packages w signsture confirmation option require it afaik. no lousy receptionist can divert it to a package lockerz they will just leave...
its a bar of gold. if the thief even had two braincells hed have bought himself a steel file and ground bits of it of

You're in Plano. The answer is 1st-generation Asian (both south and east) immigrants.
Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
i have doubts tbh. feel like this was a white guy. not sure why, but thats my feeling.
its a stereotype asians obsess over gold. they dont. the ones that come here are fully invested in the system.
PseudonymIncognito@reddit
I mean, if you look at the locations of businesses that deal in bullion gold and silver, the demographic trends are pretty obvious. The Costcos that sell bird's nest soup and abalone are also the ones most likely to sell gold and silver bars.
Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
i dont know any asians that care about ohysical gold. i do know two white guys that buy precious metals.
Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
interesting. didnt know that. do the costcos here sell that stuff? im not a member so I wouldnt know.
i go to dallas gold and silver off 635 and preston every now and then. never seen a single asian guy there. all whites, quite a lot of middle easterners. never asian.
who knows.
also I never understood the need for redditors to downvote shit they disagree with. just say your piece my god...

None of the Costcos I’ve been to have those (granted, I avoid the one on 75) and I’ve been here my whole life. I would like to know which ones cause bulk abalone sounds great.
Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
whats wrong w the one on 75? u mean at spring cree)?
dnarevolutions@reddit
Yeah. It’s out of the way for me, and I personally think it’s a PITA to get into the parking lot lol
Lurcher99@reddit

Key-Lecture-678@reddit (OP)
