How would you describe the Monkston area?
SpartanDavie@reddit
I moved to Monkston a year ago.
We chose here because it’s a nice area if you have school aged children. It has good schools nearby and a park with a big playing field in the centre of Monkston. There’s also clubs for pretty much every sport or hobby within a 10 minute drive (my son does skateboarding, parkour, rugby, football, swimming).
Not sure why the other comment mentioned parking, every house has their own parking space, many with more than 1.

I lived in Monkston for 5 years. You only need to drive around Blanchland circle or Lileshall avenue a few minutes to experience the slalom of so many cars on the street.
Sure almost all houses have off street parking but typically it’s one space , unless you have a 4/5 bed and you get two spaces. Most households have more than one car.
So that’s why I mentioned parking, it just feels cramped.
Otherwise it’s a great area.

I understand. To be honest we usually go to the park in the day time and drive in the day so that’s probably why it’s clear. I imagine at night when everyone is back from work there’s more cars parked on the road.
I was actually thinking more in the sense of is if you are the furthest possible house in Monkston from the main road, you would still get to the main road in ~1 minute? So it generally doesn’t matter if there’s some cars parked on the road.

This is very helpful. Dog friendly?

Yeah, plenty of dogs at the Central Park, there's a few small parks dotted around too, and of course Milton Keynes in general has the most green space of any UK city (3x more than second) and 2x more green space per inhabitant than the second most. Oakgrove, the previous Ofsted report is 'Good', with 4 'good' and 2 'outstanding'.

The guy who does it is really nice, does sessions at a bunch of the skateparks in MK, also does 1-1 sessions that you can choose any park. He also has the GB Skateboard Coaching Certification too.
I would recommend visiting his Facebook and telling him your son's age and level so he can go along to a suitable group.
Not sure what level your son is but if he is able to drop in and skate around pretty comfortably, The XC in Hemel Hempstead is the nearest indoor and also do a skate club in the school holidays.
