MaccyDs has Ninja Burgers in Japan, McKrokets in the Netherlands, McBier in Germany. What uniquely British special should be on the Maccy's menu?

I'm thinking a McYorkie which is slices of roast beef and horseradish sauce with a bun made out of Yorkshire Pudding batter.
Anything else?

About 20 years ago they had a McIndian season… there were a number of items but my favourite was a lamb patty in a Naan bread with mango chutney. Doesn’t get much more British than that.
Was bloody lovely.
Key_Milk_9222@reddit
McFaggots, are Brain's faggots still a thing in the UK? I used to be forced to eat them as a child in the 80's.
Altruistic_Lock_3918@reddit
I don't think.theyd go over very well when the Americans find out
Key_Milk_9222@reddit
You say that like less American tourists is a bad thing.
dick_schidt@reddit
Fewer American tourists would be better.
HMS_Hexapuma@reddit
They are, but I can never get them in anything other than a six pack and that's too much for one. Still love them though.
HMSWarspite03@reddit
Can't you freeze them? Or would that cause brain freeze? (Sorry, I'll get my coat)
HMS_Hexapuma@reddit
I'll forgive a fellow warship anything (But you're on thin ice with that one!)

SnooRegrets8068@reddit
Yes they are. Not sure why but then SO gets them occasionally. Tasted at best like they needed a lot of sauce.
Key_Milk_9222@reddit
As a child we convinced my younger brother that Brains wasn't the brand name but in fact the principle ingredient.
stercus_uk@reddit
Brains are about the only organ proper faggots don’t contain
SnooRegrets8068@reddit
As someone with a child I heartily approve of this.

Careful! I got an automatic ban for mentioning those.

That's the one I was thinking of - not samurai. TBH I didn't rate it hugely. My favourite international McDs special is definitely the McKroket.

Seriously… it would be very cheap to make, could be a 99p item, filling but not desirable (so people would regularly eat something more expensive), and a fun local item that’s actually true.
KowakianDonkeyWizard@reddit
Is this desperate McDonald's marketing trying to get Reddit to do its homework?
McD's should stick to serving overpriced oversalted oversweetened American slop as is traditional.

MacDonald’s did bring out the “English pub burger” in the US in 2011. - found in Galveston (Texas).
It had proper fried onions (our style, not the dried stuff they call onions over there) and tasted like a school fete.

They have a filet o fish. But I always thought it was weird they didn’t do a fish finger sandwich, which is so much similar but everyone would love it imo. Filet o fish is suspicious sounding but a fish finger sandwich is proper British and sound.

I'd rather the bun be made of a yorkshire pudding than its batter, but yes.
Honestly though, resurrect their big breakfast with actual bacon (theirs is just awful) and the other bits of a fry up. They were halfway there so wouldn't be much of a push. I'll call it The McSpoons.

Lulovesyababy@reddit
They do indeed sell beer in McD's in other countries. However, Brits can't be trusted not to turn which is already a fairly antisocial place at the best of times, into an absolute shitshow, hence restrictions on all inclusives in Spain, and notices online and irl in Amsterdam about not drinking in the street......only for the British :/

Alarmed_Crazy_6620@reddit
Exactly. Most of the national offerings are riffs on existing menu items with slightly custom/premium ingredients. McChippy should just do what chicken selects do for chicken nuggets – a bit less processed and tad more premium
indigo263@reddit
Not too sure what I'd have for a British special, but I think it'd be pretty fun if each of the four countries had their own special. Like you can get irn bru in Scottish McDonald's, you could get a burger with haggis and whisky/peppercorn sauce. Wales could have a burger that incorporates welsh rarebit or something. Things like that would be fun to have!
But then it's Mcdonald's and it'd probably be a bit disappointing, like when they stick salsa and nachos on a burger and call it mexican, or pop maple bbq and suddenly it's canadian. Would be nice to see them be more creative.
