Funny name aside. Pyle has recently came into my area and just curious what people know about them. I know they’re big in the north east but they’d be brand new out here, so never talked to one of their drivers.

I work for them on the linehaul side so I cant really speak for P&D but I enjoy it overall, I work about 55-60 hours a week and OT after 40 company wide. 33.35 an hour and we get our raise this month, I'm not sure about the NY and PA drivers but I'm up in Maine and I've never been bothered about anything by anyone. There's alot of bad reviews on Indeed from disgruntled ex employees but everyone I meet is happy for the most part, health insurance sucks and bonus could be better (1500 a year). They will fire without thinking twice, but as long as you don't lie and just do what your supposed to do then you'll have nothing to worry about, I'm gonna make over 100K this year no problem. All I do is drive and drop and hook, I don't touch shit and all their trailers are pretty much new.

All drop and hook? Are these doubles? Or just single 53 foot trailers? Are you constantly dropping and switching trailers? I feel like what I’ve read about Linehaul is that there are tons of trailer swaps with drivers?

I swap up to 4 a night, no doubles, just 53 ft vans, easy peasy.

Ok cool. And this is all 100% drop and hook at the terminals? Or are you dropping and hooking/swapping at different customers/receivers? What type of trucks do they have? Are they automatics? I’d be out of Ohio, have you been to the Ohio terminal much? Or heard anything about their management?

Not familiar with Ohio, there's a terminal manager that's just gonna give you your paperwork for your load, your actual bosses are in PA that's where dispatch is from, you'll meet them if you decide to come on board. All drop and hook at Duie Pyle Terminals, day guys deal with customers. Trucks kinda depends I guess. You'll get assigned one, all autos, there's a lot of Volvos and Freightliners, sprinkle in some Macks and Peterbuilts. Home every morning also because obviously night shift, which sucks.

Cool! That sounds awesome. I noticed on the Ohio position it says “Sleep outs required.” I’m guessing this means spending the night over the road. You are saying your home every morning though? I’m guessing maybe this only pertains to the Ohio position? I’m currently OTR right now, 21 days out and so I don’t mind spending a couple days out on the road. But I’m curious on the logistics, if it’s a day cab does the company pay for hotels? Do they help finding hotels with truck parking?

Oh shit, so they actually have rooms at the terminals that are decent, quite, tv, dark, etc. So you'll do 1 or 2 overnights a week and that should be it hopefully, I think that spot pays an extra dollar an hour also. You shouldn't be out all week by any means, then after a bit you could always switch to a straight 1 night run, what city in Ohio is it?

I went earlier this week and spoke with the terminal manager about a line haul job but I had just missed their job fair and was told it would be 2-3 weeks to hear back about bringing me on since they are just getting setup here in Columbus and he wasn't sure how many more people they're gonna need to hire just yet. Wonder if ya ended up taking the job and if you did how do you like it so far?

Also, I’m guessing this company mainly runs northeast? Ohio and onward east? Or does it run all over the country? I’m not a big fan of the northeast, should I be worried? lol. Everything else seems great about the company and position, so I’m a bit conflicted. A few people (who don’t work for the company but are truckers) are telling me I’ll be going to NYC a lot since the company seems to be based in that area. Heck, I may just suck it up and give it a go. Any major complaints about the company or job?

I actually took a picture of the service area but it won't let me post it which is Mildy Infuriating, but below Ohio you got WV and VA and a tiny little satellite in NC on the border of SC then everything east from there. There's like 30 terminals you can go to and back in one night from Cleveland. If you're worried about the weather they will shut things down but it has to be really really bad, I've gone fuckin 500 miles in a hurricane and another 500 in a blizzard and it's in the middle of the night so not ideal. Company is based out of West Chester PA it was founded there, you'll go to PA a lot I'm sure there's like 12 terminals in PA it's ridiculous, NY you might get lucky and not have to go into the city city, just hit Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, I haven't been there but it's probably better then Maspeth or the Bronx. Worst part of the job for me is I get fucked a lot and end up waiting 3 to 5 hours a night for overnight freight from PA to haul back to ME. I haul Hazmat constantly and the DOT always wants to fuckin look through it, communication isn't that great and I hate driving through Mass every god damn night. Solid gig though, the CEO, who you'll meet if you work here, is a great guy, he has a 98% approval rating from the employees which is something I've never seen before.

I had an interview tomorrow morning for P&D at your terminal. I dicked around too long and missed out on the linehaul spot, although I see them post one all the time. Anyway, we will see. I've also been offered a linehaul with Estes, but am going tomorrow just to explore all options.

You might make more money at Estes. Feel it out man, good luck, I just walked in and they asked if I wanted the job, probably be the same for you I'm sure.
