Plan a dream GT Special...

So I'm sure a lot of us have plenty of ideas of what we'd love to see, hypothetically...
The boys have given us so many fantastic memories and road trips over the years, but what would you love to see/think would make a good Grand Tour, if you could curate your own...
Mine would see Clarkson, Hammond and May driving the Carretera Austral in Chile, from Puerto Montt down to Villa O'Higgins in 1980's European Coupes. Clarkson (again) in an Alfa Romeo GTV6, Hammond in a Renault Fuego Turbo/GTX and May in an early Saab 900 Turbo.
Following in the footsteps of 'One For The Road' it follows less of a scripted/planned stops and just focuses on the boys dicking about, stopping at wineries/vineyards & drinking, some light modification, a bit of off-road driving and some amazing scenery...
And a great soundtrack too (I can just imagine the boys cruising along the road pictured to Telegraph Road by Dire Straits)
Let's hear some more!

A road-trip in KL, India across the state in three Indian cars they like, now I'm not sure what they may be, but it would have been a good idea, also because my family's from there so I have a soft spot for that place.
Sadly, Jezza is banned from India, and the show's ended.

The Trans Canada Trail. 28,000k (17,000 in freedom units) from one coast of Canada to the other, mostly off-road. Give the boys $10,000.00 to buy and build an off-road vehicle that can make it across the country which they will also have to live in.

Clarkson has a 4.0 jeep cherokee
Hammond has a chevy K5 blazer on TSL superswampers
May has a suzuki samurai

I’d have wanted to see the Bangladesh-India-Nepal Everest trip that Jeremy had in mind but couldn’t do because of his ban in India. This would’ve been epic

Call it the "WoUlD YoU LiKe ChEEsE wITh ThAt?" Tour

I do want that but I get why they never did. It’s one of the most played out kind of road trips there is it wouldn’t be exotic and interesting enough

In pick up trucks

My take is this.
Amazon replaces the trio with the new blood, and the show actually gets fairly well received. Clarkson sees this and decides he's not quite ready to stop dicking around, and they sign on for an annual Christmas special for three years.
Come on Jermey. Your heart can take a trip once a year.

I would love it, though those specials are lot more than just a trip. It's months of planning, followed by weeks on location, followed by months of post production. I'm not sure Jeremy wants to be splitting time with the farm like that. I would be very happy just to see him with May and Hammond in a drivetribe episode once in a while.

i actually could see this happening, just please bring hammond and may along

Give James a Dacia Sandero and Hammond some old american Musclecar

The 2024 gumball 3000 route in cars they built themselves
lesandros_@reddit
I’d love to see the trio in my shitty home country, the Philippines and its even shittier traffic situation in the capital, Manila. They can drive from the city to a really nice beach…
Or I’d love to see them in Taiwan and try to make Richard eat stinky tofu.

Mine would be a tour the Northwest and Upper Midwest.
Start the trip in Mackinaw City, Michigan in any type of car they want for a road trip. I see Hammond in some type of Mercedes Sprinter van/camper. Clarkson in a Bentley (Comfort) and May in something reasonable like a Kia/Hyundai SUV (great gas milage.)
First leg would start off them going over the Mackinaw Bridge, then heading west towards Duluth/Superior. From there, onto Fargo, ND. (I'm sure there will be plenty of jokes they can make about that.
Next leg is onto Deadwood in the Black hills - maybe time it for a stop at Sturgis/Badlands?
Then they head down to Red Lodge, MT and do the Beartooth Highway drive through the park to West Yellowstone. Amazing scenery a lot of switchbacks, animals (Bison) and history.
Next Leg - Driving through Glacier National Park on Going to the Sun road. There's a ton of history there, and beautiful scenery. Have them drive to Polebridge Mercantile (May would love the history, and Clarkson would complain while Hammond gets into the camping/wilderness).
Final leg would be them ending up at Mount St. Helens.
Point for this would be to highlight the areas away from the main cities where they have gone in the past, and show the vastness of the nation - which their commentary would be great to hear.

I once had an idea that they have a road trip across Japan in classic British sports cars to prove that they are better than the Mazda mx-5 which was heavily influenced by classic British sports cars like the lotus elan.
Also side note I doubt that Richard would have that Renault, I think he’s more likely to have a bmw 635csi
Schwartzy94@reddit
They should have done a full season adventure like 6-8 episodes on the road across europe or like russia (which they wanted to do)
Vodnik_The_Slav@reddit
I know this isn't a special, but I'd really like a special version of their Wolf Mountain incursion saving Hammond. The atmosphere of Canada in the Rocky's, with old beat up 4x4s whether it be trucks or SUVs, and maybe have it trek though Alaska would be an awesome special to me.
If I had to guess the vehicles and scenario, upper Canada/lower alaska. Budget of no more than $10K.
Jeremy: Jeep Wrangler for a Cherokee XJ James: Toyota 4Runner and playing it as safe as possible (funny enough being the most driven or highest miles with the most issues) Richard: this one is up for grabs honestly, but I would say some lifted Chevy Silverado due to overdoing it, or something unpopular to many such as an Xterra or something.

MK7.5 Golf R manual - Clarkson merc a45 - Hammond BMW m135i - May
schloss neuschwanstein to wartburg. Castles tour.
Bonus if they pick up different cars every milestone. Maybe one stop is super cars, then hyper cars, the. Sanderos, and so on
Trekgiant8018@reddit
Jezza - 2007 Jaguar XJS Vanden Plas; Hammond - 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS; May - 1990 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

Running the length of Japan in some 90s JDM cars would’ve been fun.
AffectionateText1070@reddit
Hear me out, a special episode about circumnavigating the world going in a line as close as possible to the equator. It’s def gon be a 3/4 parter but it will have basically everything from many different episodes, there’s the crossing of Africa, South America and the pacific(the best part) because they would likely need to share a boat in order to make it across safely by taking shifts
onwhiterockandrivers@reddit
You understand the assignment 👏
matty_lam_937@reddit (OP)
Now that would be something... I guess they'd need some kind of off-roaders?
Perhaps Clarkson in an old Range Rover V8 akin to Bolivia, Hammond in an old Pajero, and May in an early G-Wagen?!
AffectionateText1070@reddit
They would need off roaders, boats, regular cars, maybe jet skis 👀
_TheShapeOfColor_@reddit
Jeremy does love jetskis.
jghtb@reddit
That would be EPIC.
AffectionateText1070@reddit
And expensive
_TheShapeOfColor_@reddit
Bezos can afford it.
AffectionateText1070@reddit
Not quite sure about the cars, as they would need multiple per person same with the boats

East to west coast Canada, the Terry Fox special. Except they do it in the dead of winter in three vehicles under 5 thousand.

In the Philippines driving Jeepneys. It will involve urban traffic, off roading, beach driving, and a conversion to a boat to cross to another island

I like it! All in Jeepneys, just individually specced, I guess?!
