Dallas park officials will vote Thursday on a three-year licensing deal with Atletico Dallas, a new United Soccer League team, to use the Cotton Bowl stadium and MoneyGram Soccer Complex for three years, two city officials with knowledge of the deal told The Dallas Morning News.
MoneyGram Soccer Complex, a potential FIFA training location, is operated by a subsidiary of FC Dallas, which has offices in Frisco. Fair Park’s Cotton Bowl stadium is home to Dallas Trinity FC, a new women’s pro-soccer team. Officials are expecting to generate a minimum of $1.2 million in revenues over those three years.

More soccer in the Cotton Bowl please!

Wish the rugby team would’ve played there instead of Choctaw field. Maybe they’d still be around

If anyone hasn't been to a Dallas Trinity game, I highly recommend it! I use DART every time I go.
And now we get Atletico Dallas? Hells yeah!

Would love to have them at The Cotton Bowl while their stadium is under construction.
The USL Women’s team already plays there, and it’s awesome to have an actual city team, in the city.

Baseball not being somewhere in Dallas still pisses me off
I would be such a regular at those games but fuck driving to Arlington on a work night

If the Cowboys and SMU don't want to use the Cotton Bowl, I'm open to listening to proposals about tearing it down and rebuilding it as a soccer stadium.

Nice joke

WPA buildings can't be teared down I don't think?
AbueloOdin@reddit
There are so many WPA buildings that it would be impossible not to tear one down.

That would be neat, but Atlético is building their own complex in Garland.
I don’t see us being able to do that for one team to use. Would love more youth/juniors soccer to get to play there too though.

Not a bad idea, but there would be a conflict with seating capacity. Dallas Trinity FC and Atletico Dallas wouldn’t need 92K seats, but TX/OU does. The Red River Rivalry will be at the Cotton Bowl until at least 2036 for now.

Ok. So after the 2036 game, we renovate!
