kaden-99@reddit
Where does that place it compared to a 3070?
letsgoiowa@reddit
Not noticeably different performance wise. 3070 bros: looks like we're going to be waiting a while.
kaden-99@reddit
I fear I don't have much time at 1440P with 8 GB's of RAM🥸
dparks1234@reddit
Go freak mode and attempt the 16GB VRAM mod
kaden-99@reddit
I should go freak mode and replace the pads first lmao
popop143@reddit
Should be around +20% fps in raster, not sure about raytracing.
Hairy-Dare6686@reddit
9060 XT is similar in rasterize to a 3070 ti unless the 3070 runs into a VRAM bottleneck.
pmth@reddit
I these other comments are selling it a bit short, it should be 10%-15% faster than a 3070ti, and actually right between the 3070ti and 4070.
DYMAXIONman@reddit
It'll be similar to the 3070ti.
Loose_Manufacturer_9@reddit
A little faster than a 3070ti
BarKnight@reddit
Reviews are out, AMDs numbers are exaggerated as usual.
PerfectTrust7895@reddit
100/72 = 38% uplift. Barely an exaggeration.
Strazdas1@reddit
id say 17percentile points is quite an exaggeration. Thats almost a third of the uplift that was not true.
fuettli@reddit
How do you get to 17?
100/72 = 39%
46 - 39 = 7
100/69 = 45%
55 - 45 = 10
Strazdas1@reddit
AMD claims 55%. Review claims 38% 55-38=17. Note that im talking percentile points, not percentages here.
fuettli@reddit
Are you talking about the link in the top most comment of this chain?
The OP Link has AMD's claim and the comment link has the review. The top comment link von u/BarKnight has the numbers I wrote in my comment.
Where do you get 55-38 from?
Strazdas1@reddit
im comparing the OP link to the link BarKnight gave. OP link claims 55%, BarKnight link claims 38%.
fuettli@reddit
I edited my comment to make it very clear.
OP link claims for 1080p: 9060 XT / RX7600 = 1.55 = 55% faster BarKnight link claims for 1080p: 9060 XT / RX7600 = 1.4492 = 45% faster
OP link claims for 1440p: 9060 XT / 7600 XT = 1.46 = 46% faster BarKnight link claims for 1440p: 9060 XT / 7600 XT = 1.3888 = 39% faster
45% is compared to 55%
38.88% = 39% is compared to 46%
fuettli@reddit
How do you get to 17?
46 - 38 = 17??
PerfectTrust7895@reddit
Also at 4k its 78% uplift over 7600.
shugthedug3@reddit
Wait... in the conclusion it says
Is this true?
only_r3ad_the_titl3@reddit
Imagine if this was nvidia.Â
Waaaaiit, we dont have to imagine how they ripped them apart for the exact same thing…
Lalaz4lyf@reddit
I hate both Nvidia and AMD's GPU division. However, Nvidia only gave out 8GB cards for (essentially) the promise of positive reviews while AMD just didn't give cards to every reviewer. It's not the same thing
BookPlacementProblem@reddit
NVIDIA and AMD can give out free cards to whoever they want. What they can't, or shouldn't, do: dictate review content. There is, so far as I know, no evidence AMD has tried to dictate review content.
angry_RL_player@reddit
HUB when they don't get a sample: WE'RE BLACKLISTED
HUB when other outlets don't get an AMD sample:
shugthedug3@reddit
Looks like GN and HUB got an 8GB card so that will be the end of it, won't hear a peep.
Honestly if that doesn't raise people's suspicions nothing will.
BlueSiriusStar@reddit
As usual, at this end of the price segment, used cards from the previous gens or open 5070 boxes would be better.
SEI_JAKU@reddit
How can you say this as a response to that link, which clearly shows the 9060 XT being a pretty good improvement over the immediate previous gen?
SEI_JAKU@reddit
Nope, that review lines up pretty neatly with this claim.
Unusual_Mess_7962@reddit
You trying to be the daily mail with that post? Reads like low tier bait.
For one, the 8GB wasnt tested here, and for the other number the link shows 38% instead of 46%, which is pretty close as far as benchmarks are concerned.
shugthedug3@reddit
And the crowd goes mild
LuminanceGayming@reddit
looking forward to a flood of angry posts and comments on r/hardware complaining they're going easy on amd compared to nvidia
NGGKroze@reddit (OP)
Totally expect thumbnails to be smiley faces that has the word "value" in them
shugthedug3@reddit
Techpowerup are saying they couldn't get an 8GB 9060XT for review... isn't that what the entirety of techtube have been throwing a fit about for the past couple of weeks?
Calientequack@reddit
It’s exactly what these fake journalist YouTubers have been moaning about. But see, when AMD does it it’s ok because they paid Steve from Gamers Nexus to say it’s ok and we all know he’s the voice of literally every PC neckbeard
detectiveDollar@reddit
And hardware unboxed was able to get one. The outrage was Nvidia stopping the 8GB TI models from being sent out even after release.
shugthedug3@reddit
Techpowerup says they couldn't get one, looks like AMD made sure GN and HUB got one though.
Who knows, either way it's fuckery.
IANVS@reddit
"NVidia's 8GB cards are planned absolescence scam but AMD's 8GB cards are good value propositions and smart business strategy, and here is why"
ResponsibleJudge3172@reddit
Which they are
Whirblewind@reddit
No, they aren't. You're just mad they've been going (deservedly) far harder on your team. From outside looking in they've held no punches.
Myth busted.
Strazdas1@reddit
Yes they are.
Unusual_Mess_7962@reddit
That sounds like rehearsed answer, considering it beats Nvidias 7% gain or the overpriced 9070 XT.
Are you guys really just for the fake drama here? Just wanting to scream at people on reddit even if the argument got nothing to do with reality?
Strazdas1@reddit
if you start at 0 its easier to accelerate, yes.
ResponsibleJudge3172@reddit
What does it matter to beat the gain when it doesn't beat the competing card?
SEI_JAKU@reddit
Nah, this card rocks, as expected. Anyone calling this "mild" is actively malicious at this point.
Monarcho_Anarchist@reddit
While thats probably accurate both cards launch in different price segments so its really underwhelming
ET3D@reddit
MSRPs aren't that different ($270 vs $300, $320 vs. $350). Real world might have a larger difference. Still, I think that "different price segments" is wrong. This is a big generational leap.
Vb_33@reddit
Bet you wouldn't be saying the same thing if it was Nvidia:Â
4060ti 8GB $400 MSRP-> 5060ti 8GB $430 MSRP
4060ti 16GB $450 MSRP -> 5060ti 16GB $480 MSRP
Sh1rvallah@reddit
What? If the 5060 TI had 40-50% uplift no one would be complaining
Vb_33@reddit
It would if the 4060ti was on last gen N6 like the 7600xt is.
Sh1rvallah@reddit
I guess, but it's not. Also that would probably make it worse than the 3060, definitely worse than 3060 ti
popop143@reddit
Except 4060 TI to 5060 TI is 7% generational uplift.
From multiple reviews for 9060 XT 16GB vs RX 7600 XT at only +$30, it's 40% generational uplift.
Vb_33@reddit
7600XT had a big die shrink, other cards did not. 7600xt is on previous generation N6.
f1rstx@reddit
Because 7600XT rivals 4060, not 4060ti.
SEI_JAKU@reddit
Changing the rules of the game, are we? XT rivals Ti. That's why the terminology exists.
f1rstx@reddit
7600 and 7600XT both much slower than 4060Ti. They were marketed against 4060. New 9060XT is marketed against 5060Ti, taking space of 7700XT which was 4060Ti rival.
popop143@reddit
How much more expensive is the 5060 TI than the 4060? Stop being an idiot.
f1rstx@reddit
Lmao what price has to do with it? You’re comparing wrong tier gpus and calling me idiot.
only_r3ad_the_titl3@reddit
Well the 5060ti is also 70 bucks cheaper. You pretty much proved OPS point
only_r3ad_the_titl3@reddit
Ups people didnt like you said the truth.
ET3D@reddit
In terms of pricing? Sure. I mean, it's definitely the same ballpark, even not that far from pure inflation.
Do you feel it's a different pricing segment?
So yeah, I think that part of what I said holds for the 5060 Ti too. Naturally not "This is a big generational leap." The 5060 Ti is an okay update, but nothing special. The added cost does make it feel even less of an update. The AMD side shows much better performance compared to the previous gen, so the price increase is less of an issue.
Unusual_Mess_7962@reddit
Yup, from what I can tell its actually the closest GPU prices. 7700 XT was $450 MSRP IIRC. Pretty high tbh.
And frankly its rare these days to see meaningful generational jumps, so that actually would be a big deal if the GPUs dont end up massively above MSRP.
got-trunks@reddit
Really feels like a deal sub 300 but of course the market will not comply and buy them out for 400 anyway.
BakedsR@reddit
Who wants to bet that there will be a with fsr4 disclaimer...
I really hope not
zopiac@reddit
I'm more willing to bet that it's just bogus numbers through and through. I'm expecting better uplifts than most RTX 50 series cards saw but when have AMD's claims ever been accurate?
Happy to be proven wrong, of course.
Loose_Manufacturer_9@reddit
The numbers line up tho
zopiac@reddit
Maybe so, but by this point the pessimism is deep-seated.
SEI_JAKU@reddit
Well yes, it's religious in nature. People love their dogmas.
gokarrt@reddit
yeah it's crazy how people pick one vendor to dogpile when they both operate almost identically. wild stuff.
Loose_Manufacturer_9@reddit
You will be proven wrong
popop143@reddit
Across multiple reviews, it's around 35%-40% upgrade from 7600 XT to 9060 XT for +$30 (if MSRP holds). The 46% faster is a bit more aggressive marketing from AMD, but not that egregious.
SEI_JAKU@reddit
Might just be the specific game/s or benchmark they tested.
ConsistencyWelder@reddit
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-9060-xt-prime-oc-16-gb/31.html
AMD's claims seem to be pretty accurate.
Techhead7890@reddit
I half expected Frank Azor to be the source of this news
reallynotnick@reddit
Literally just open the article and look at the graphs that clearly say “native” at the top, it’s not hard, but happy to take the bet.
Hailgod@reddit
why would it? its 5060ti performance which is much much faster than a 7600.
Loose_Manufacturer_9@reddit
No it’s native
spacerays86@reddit
AMD: we never miss an opportunity, to miss an opportunity
Aggravating-Dot132@reddit
It's between 7700 and 7800. Depends on the game and RT
popop143@reddit
Seems around 7700 XT, a bit lower overall.Should be way cheaper, but of course MSRP is a wish nowadays
detectiveDollar@reddit
It trade blows with the 7700 XT in raster, but tends to destroy it in RT.
ConsistencyWelder@reddit
They're pretty much spot on with those performance predictions:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-9060-xt-prime-oc-16-gb/31.html
kevinh141@reddit
the 7600 was pretty terrible card imo so thats like saying the 4060 is 40% better than a 3050 to me. (i know its not a 1 to 1 situation but Im just illustrating a point)
Sevastous-of-Caria@reddit
Should be compelling with fsr4. But amd really needs to learn 1. Make the 8gb card sub 300 to justify 8gb. And 2. Print out these cards on mass that it actually makes sense on market share low end sales.
BlueSiriusStar@reddit
AMD should learn that the competition ay this price segment is themselves and past gen nvidia cards. I'd argue pricing the 8GB cards as low as possible while leaving the 16GB to MSRP if possible. It's hard to say if there would say of those cards at MSRP.
