There used to be a statue of 2 kids accompanying this mirror ball in front of these apartments in east Dallas. Then one day they were just gone. I drive by this every day. Did the crackheads steal it or…?

If you don’t understand how this works and what is happening, you can just say that. Continuing to come up with nonsense to fit your own narrative isn’t getting anyone anywhere.
A person who knows they have a warrant doesn’t show up to the court date. That’s not what is happening here. ICE is showing up to arrest people when they are coming to immigration hearings when they’re trying to become legal citizens and — as people like you say — “do things the right way.”
If they’re just freeloading illegals then why do they have jobs and show up to court? Because they’re getting picked up at work sites and court houses, not the food stamp office or standing on the corner begging for money. Let’s talk about THAT before we talk about anything else.

No, the exception doesn’t make the rule. The vast majority of criminal immigrants have no legal path to stay in the US whatsoever. Sure there are family petitions or asylum claims that rarely apply. Almost all criminal immigrants are hiding and must leave or are subject to deportation.

Again, that is not accurate. The vast majority of people who enter illegally DO have a path to citizenship and it is being interrupted by a judicial system that is picking and choosing what laws they want to uphold. You can continue the narrative you want, but you sound like one of the “They took my job!” types but you wouldn’t spend a day on a roof in the sun because you can’t get your American-sized ass up a ladder.

What’s hateful about it? What I believe we should be doing is literally what EVERY other country does on a daily basis. It is incredibly stupid took the other way on immigration like we do. You’d think our crap rotten school performance would persuade you. We have immigration laws. Those laws should be followed. If you don’t like the systems then change the laws.
As for school - those illegals are stealing services they aren’t paying for and watering down the services via overcrowding that taxpayers like me ARE paying for.

Our rotten school performance has been an issue for a while, and it's not because of immigration. It's because the assholes in Austin think that teachers shouldn't be fairly paid for their jobs. Who tf would want to teach when schools, even good ones, are so underfunded that the teachers are having to spend their money to buy classroom supplies.
And "those illegals" pay more in taxes than they'd receive any benefit from. Contrary to Republican misinformation, they don't automatically get Medicaid or WIC or any other assistance. They still have to qualify for it. Many don't even try to.
So the issue really boils down to kids shouldn't be allowed an education if you don't approve of how they got here... which, thankfully, you're not the decision maker there.

The constitution is the bedrock of the nation, so no, you dont just ignore it when it becomes convenient for you in an argument. The reality is that there is a process in which we make sure that people who come in are who they say they are. We just had a terrorist attack in Colorado by someone who came in illegally. Mainstream media isn't covering it much. Know why? Because he was an illegal immigrant, and he didn't use a firearm. So they have NOTHING to blame it on but their own stupidity and democrat policies.
I'd invite you to open up your own door and let anyone in that wants to while we set up flyers all over the city about your home. Would you have people that come to your place looking for help? Yes. Will you also have people that come looking to take advantage of your kindness? ALSO YES. The point is to have a bouncer at the door that does a secuirty check. Is that a concept so hard to understand?
And any nation has the right to approve or revoke status of someone who is here uninvited or illegally. Same way you have that right on your own property. Does it suck that sometimes it's kids and good people caught in the crossfire? Yes it does. But as usual, afew people have to ruin it for everyone. If we didn't have criminals coming in and the democrats flooding the country with 10 to 20 million illegals in the last 4 years, this wouldn't have been necessary.
But whyd they do that? Too eventually make them or their children voters and also drive up the census to win congressional seats. Its not hard to see the strategy they had. Only the left, who chooses ignorance decided not to look.

A little tea here. The buildings along Gaston and throughout East Dallas that all kind of have that unique look used to be owned by Power Properties, I used to live at this building, The Greenhouse and the adjacent building Garden Villas. Power Properties was owned by the Power Brothers who sold their company a few years ago for something like 90 million I think. They sold the company after one brother was discovered to have been embezzling from the other brother. My boss thought this was notable, as many years ago he tried to invest with them and they did not want to allow anyone else in the company because they could only fully trust family. Funny how that works out, but the last few years of Power Properties and the years that have followed with the new management company have been rough, I left a couple years ago. They definitely haven't been maintained as well as they used to be, I wouldn't be surprised if they were remodeling and are just moving at a snails pace and doing random adjustments little by little.

My now husband and I used to live at Stardust. I lived and hated it. First, when we were looking at apartments, they showered us several. There was an upstairs unit that we had to duck the roofline to go through the door. Another unit had vegetation growing through the window. Stardust was cool except for the parking. I looked at some power properties rentals 10 years ago or so. They were somewhat bizarre, like your basic old apartments but those pigs didn’t just have lipstick slapped on them, they had lipstick, mascara and had done some serious contouring. Shit was still cracked and crumbling underneath it though and it didn’t change what they were, or justify how much they charged for some over the top cosmetics.

Yeah, the girl got stolen over night and the other one was there for awhile after adding an extra steel band around it. Disappeared when all of the construction started on the same corner so I always assumed it came down for construction and would come back but never did
