I'll be travelling to Budapest solo this weekend (32M gay), anyone want to hang out?

hoping there'll be someone willing to adopt a Londoner, grab a few drinks and hang out 😄

i’m landing late Thursday evening. my plans so far on Friday night is to go on a walking tour, food and a night seeing cruise so far. not much planned for Saturday apart from Szechenyi Baths and a ruin bar crawl. Sunday will be my museum day most likely

i'm 32M, black, gay. i’m a very chilled out and laidback guy who has no problem talking to strangers. i'm an extroverted person and open minded as this will be my first time to Hungary. happy to trade socials if you want a vibe check

Of course! Personally my favourite is Habrolo, but that’s not some big party place, but a smaller and extremely lovely pub with the nicest guy on earth behind the counter.

Alrerego is noisy and crowded but indeed the most famous gay club in Bp and it’s trans variety is the most amusing thing I’ve seen so far 😀 but prepare, there’s a lot of people, and the toilets are just meh.

Why Not Cafe is also a bigger but more sophisticated club, with nice events. People there are mostly in their 30-40’s (Alterego’s people are more like in their 20-30’s). Good drinks, nice staff.

Phoenix is a relatively new place but seemed nice at first sight. Maybe worth a try as well.

And if you’re feeling yourself spicy, you can visit Magnum Sauna, nomen est omen haha

I don’t eat meat, so not am expert on Hungarian food, but if you want an authentic/cheap experience I recommend going to a butcher’s (hentes) that sells sausages that they bake there and get some + pickles. Also, you can get kürtöskalács from little kiosks around metro/trainstations and those are just as good as the ones you can get from shops around the most touristy bits, just half the price.

Hey! Wishing you a great time in Budapest during the weekend. Just a heads up: Sunday is Pentecost, so if you are planning to visit museums, make sure that they will be open, otherwise you might find many of them closed. If I were you, I would visit the websites of the museums you are planning to visit and check each of them individually - Google might not take into consideration the public holiday when it shows you opening hours.
