Visiting from Canada, looking for recommendations

My wife and I (in our mid 30’s) will be staying in the area this month for the first time from Canada. We have both been to UK many times though first time staying in MK. Looking for any and all recommendations in the MK area. From the best pubs, greasy spoons, music etc. Thanks for any suggestions!

Pubs - Harvester in Loughton, Prince George in Tattenhoe, the Flying Fox further south. Walks around Furzton Lake can be really pretty. Stop for a coffee at the top of the hill — beautiful place.

For a greasy spoon, the Super Sausage Cafe on the A5 heading out of Milton Keynes towards Towcester is hard to beat: https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/comments/15oef7b/went_to_the_semi_famous_super_sausage_cafe/

I'm Canadian but lived there about 10 years ago for a while. Cambridge, Oxford are fairly easy to get to if you have a car or you can take a bus (my wife use to do that all the time). Bletchley Park is an easy commute via train. within MK, there is Xscape (you can downhill ski....but for a Canadian this might be a novelty since it takes all of 20secs from top to bottom). Willen lake area is nice to walk if you're into that.

Music: MK11, especially if you enjoy rock / pop / emo
Pub: my personal favourites are The Barge, or The Cross Keys.
Nearby town: Olney. I grew up here and have a bias for the place. Charming little market town. Home of the song Amazing Grace.

Milton Keynes recommendations:
Go to Woburn, a picturesque village with a deer park in which you can get great coffee and pastries from “Margo’s” which is owned by a woman who won the “The Great British Bake-off” and her pub in Eversholt “The Green Man” does a great Sunday roast.
There is also a great restaurant in Woburn called “Lussmans”.
In Eversholt there is an idyllic heated outdoor swimming pool, you can book it online just search for it on Google, there is a kiosk serving ice cream and refreshments.
If you book on a Sunday you can watch a game of cricket on the green, take a swim and have a Sunday roast at The Green Man (recommend booking in advance) although they do have some tables for walk-ins.
Nearby MK: 35 minutes away is St Albans a historic Roman town, be sure to book brunch at “Hatch” or “George St Canteen” grab a bagel from Brad & Dills and some amazing ice cream from Darlish.
Make sure to visit the Cathedral and go for a walk through the park in which you’ll find the Roman ruins of London Gate and a perfectly preserved mosaic Roman floor.
Fishpool St is an English street out of a postcard and has lots of wonderful pubs.
40 minutes away from Milton Keynes is Waddesdon Manor a French Renaissance-style chateau, built in the 1870s by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild. The manor itself is stunning but so are the grounds, it also has an avery containing rare birds.

Honestly, take the train into London. MK is the industrial estate of London.

Will be doing that too but staying with family in MK

That's fair enough my man. MK isn't as bad as I make it out to be, and family is important.
There's lots to do, especially in the hub!
Honestly, it took me a while to find my way about, but once you're there, you'll find plenty to do.

Pubs: The Black horse, either of the Swans Things to do: ski dome, iFly at the xscape. Bletchley park. The X5 bus goes to Cambridge and Oxford.

You need to change at Bedford now for onward travel to Cambridge

I agree with the X5 bus to Oxford. It comes about every half hour (£3 single). It is never a busy bus and puts you right in the centre. It's far easier than driving in and paying for parking. You can also hop onto the same bus but get off a few stops earlier and look around the shops in bicester Village. I also like woburn sands and woburn.

The Cross Keys pub Woolstone. Built in 1562. Thatched roof quaint. Does decent burgers.
