I have a soft spot for Serendipity - I just loved his chemistry w Kate Beckinsale. I’m a straight chick - but she is just objectively beautiful. And I’m a hopeless romantic so the whole premise of the movie got me. Of course One Crazy Summer and Better Off Dead more from childhood. Weird trivia - I read (or heard) somewhere that John Cusack makes a reference to Paul Newman in all of his movies. Can’t remember anything rn except for the Cool Hand Luke poster they pass on the street in Serendipity and he goes on about his how great a film it is. But this thread is making me want to revisit some movies that I have no memory of but def saw at some point (Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity, esp) to see if this little factoid is true. Don’t shoot the messenger if not…but def comment if you know of any other references. May not be every movie, just his later stuff, idk. A quick Google search revealed he was in a movie w Paul Newman though - Fat Man and Little Boy - which I definitely have not seen. I’ll add it to the list…
