A metal bracket touched the motherboard

Hi everyone, I have ASUS Rog Strix g15 Laptop and wanted to put a new SSD card into it, and when I was unplugging the battery, the metal bracket which holds the wire, jumped out and touched the motherboard. There was a small electric spark. Will the laptop survive? I'm scared to turn it on until the service centre but I need your opinion or if you had the same situation.

I am not an expert on mobo zapping. But if it was mine, i'd try to turn it on before service center. They're probably gonna try to do first anyway, they'll call it your fault if it is borked anyway, and it might be ok.

I’m still scared because that metal clip or bracket, idk how to call it, is still out. I don’t think that turning it on without that clip is a good idea 😟

use your best judgement. I'm not sure what clip you are referring to.

oh, is that like... connecting the battery? lol it probably won't turn back on without plugging it back in anyway.

not that white thing, but the thing he pulls on before unplugging the white wire. My white wire is still plugged, but not that metal thing he pulled on. jesus, its hard to describe, sorry.

nah you're good. the video helps lol. I think i see what you mean. the one he pushed forward to remove the white one, yeah? looks like... just a clip to hold the wire connector on? it's probably not supposed to come off lol.
idk if i can be more help tbh. probably comes down to what took arc. some stuff could be ok, other stuff could be not.

anyways, thanks, you calmed me down a bit :D

no prob lol. tbh if it's borked it's probably already done. only one way to find out lol

That’s not good. But it doesn’t automatically mean it dead.
It could survive, but it’s hard to tell without trying it out.
Good luck!
