Best places to take a learner driver in MK

My daughter has just got her provisional license and starts lessons next week but she’s keen to get out.

Any recommendations for good places to start and then progress?

I used to see driving instructors in Middleton all the time so I guess that must be a good area. I'm in Emerson Valley and they are up and down the V2 all day. Maybe because it's a mix of faster roads, estates, country lanes (out near Whaddon) and parking practice at Westcroft.

I live in Middleton... Outside of school hours it's fine but it's a nightmare for a learner in the morning and afternoon, since there are 3 schools sharing the vicinity

Passed my test a year ago now and Bletchley is definitely the best if you want to grab a bit of everything imo

Lane discipline at/on roundabouts you have the spiral one outside IKEA and the double by Tesco/Aldi
Hill starts you have Church Green Road and the turning coming out the Saints Estate which is a proper nasty one on the test.
Grabbing the habit of checking your mirrors you can start off with the Trees estate and then move on to Water Eaton Road and the millions of speed bumps.

Other good places to mention are Kelly's Kitchen Roundabout, Netherfield for your parallel parking.

Those are some of the things but list can go on and on, don't limit yourself to one area

My driving instructor took me to Knowlhill. It was fairly quiet during the day time, so I can imagine that during the night it’s completely empty.

Good shout! Also helpful for getting started with navigating the roads in MK. But try to do it as near to Bletchley as you can.

Somewhere like Linford Wood East might be good. A few turns and roundabouts.

Would start around Wolverton and stony. A good mix of quiet areas, calm congestion and industrial estates and business parks to practice maneuvers, but you should head to bletchley once comfortable with controls as that's the only place with a bit of semi challenging driving in MK and where tests are held.

I will say that despite not really knowing why the most challenging part of driving in MK for me is honestly the roundabout that separates old Wolverton, Wolverton and Stratford road.

It's small and unassuming. But it also fucks me up far too regularly.
