Has anyone every crashed a work/company van?

Happened in my last company. We had more drivers and vans parked on site than we did parking spaces and one of my biggest bugbears was vans and trucks parking in places that weren’t spaces. I worked in the transport department at the time too but had done the night shift a favour running some pallets of stuff to another depot that had arrived to ours by accident, and tried to park the van up when I got back, ended up scraping the side of a van on a metal trim on a 7.5T truck. Truck was undamaged but had scratched the van. Nothing ever came of it, and the transport admin filing my report was happy because there’d been previous damage on that van that he couldn’t account for, and meant he could get it repaired blaming me then 🤣 Every company is different but back when I did that it was usually investigated. A driver would have to fill in an accident report which was pretty much a statement of what happened, draw a sketch of how it happened and who was to blame. Management would then investigate whether a driver had been involved in many accidents with company vehicles before. But 9/10 times they’d get away with it. Regular incidents would then It was later brought in with any accident, whether the driver’s fault or a third party, the driver would have to have a driving assessment with a trainer or company driving instructor to rule out driver’s faults. It’s all normal stuff. And you’re on a company policy, not your own so it should affect anything on your personal insurances
