What are the more reputable places to sell a firearm?

So I have a AR57 pistol. 6” barrel and fitted a faux suppressor on the end that I want to sell. I don’t shoot it anymore and there are other things coming out in the 5.7 cal that I would prefer.
I know of gunbroker but I don’t know of anything else to get exposure. I also never sold online so I’m not sure how to ship to a ffl after it sells.
Figured complete strangers on the internet can’t steer my that wrong 😂😂

No sell, only buy.

I’ve generally thought this way, its just a novelty gun, if I could get a FA bcg for it or be willing to pay a smith to make one, it would be a fun toy for a FRT but doesn’t seem affordable and there are many other options out there for cooler projects.
I’m just looking at options. I will go talk to a few gun stores and see about them buying it and I’ll get something like the X57 when PSA launches it or a mac5 mp5 clone. It could sit in the safe with the ps90 too if I can’t get a decent price for it.
Might even just get a folding stock and throw it in my vertx backpack for traveling.

You could sell the upper on GAFS and keep the lower for another project.

There is certainly a local gun trading website that you could post it on. What state / part of state are you in?
Cumminpwr11@reddit (OP)
Utah and Juab county.

Check out:
I can't speak about any of these in particular, but assuming private-party-to-private-party firearm sales are allowed in your jurisdiction, local trading sites like these are a great place to buy & sell guns without a middleman taking a sizeable cut.

In order of easiest to most headache forming.....
Sell to gun store outright. Likely get the least amount for it but straightforward.
Have gun store sell on consignment. They will take 20%-30% of final sale for their fee. Gun could sell tomorrow or it could take 6 months. Hopefully get more than when guns tore buys it.
Sell on Gunbroker as an auction. Take lots of pictures ( I have done ads with upwards of 30 pics). Use Guntab for payment so credit cards can be accepted, and ShipMyGun for shipping. Buyer sends funds to Guntab, you ship gun via ShipMyGun, 72 hours after delivery Guntab deposits funds (less their fees) in your bank account.
As someone else said, look for the covert FB groups where you post a pic with your zip code, people PM you about it and you take it from there. All laws still apply, and I personally would handle funds/shipping the same way as my Gunbroker reference above.
"Old school" forums like caguns or state trader sites.
Word of mouth, gun store bulletin board, etc.. Very often people in your real life social network know other people looking to buy and reaching out to them with a "Hey, I'm going to sell X, do you know anyone looking?" might generate a lead. If it pans out face to face have a buddy go along as backup, accept cash only and do it at a very public place like a police station.
A few years back I trimmed down my collection via selling on GB and once I got the routine down it was pretty easy. I listed Sunday around 8 pm for a 7 day penny start auction. It closed the following Sunday, I sent invoice and told the buyer if I had payment by Friday of the same week I could ship it out. UPS would take 3-4 days depending on location, the Guntab 72 hour thing kicked in after delivery and I might have funds in my bank account by the end of the week it was delivered. Start to finish about 3 weeks.

Thank you that’s very informative. I appreciate all the info

Check out tacswap

What are the payment methods on there? Payment methods are what kept me off of Gunbroker.
Illustrious-Eye9083@reddit
I think it’s worked out between the parties of the sale. I only know about it from friends that use it and they seem to really like it. I’ve never used it personally.

Generally, where are you in the world? US laws, vs EU, vs California vs....
You need to know the value of the gun.
Assuming USA in a free state...
I would check out the local FFLs. Many will sell consignment. Some will sell gun broker, consignment.
I would also consider going to a gun show and walking around.
I have met someone for a trade, we were both known on a board for some time and I had a pretty good idea of the type of person I was meeting.
I have sold a gun or two to friends.
I have not sold guns in general.
I am not in the market for a 5.7. If you have details you don't want to share, but need answers, PM me.

Rural Utah. There aren’t any gun stores near me. I could take a drive up to scheels in Salt Lake City and post consignment but I’d prefer to not have to drive 2 hours if I didn’t have too.
But thank you for the option. I was t even thinking about that as an option until you stated that.
In Las Vegas I could post it at any range and it would sell fast. Up here not so much.

Could always post an ad at your LGS, mine always has classified ads hanging.

I’m small town Utah. There isn’t much demand for something like this around here.

FB market place groups for your area are my go to
Cumminpwr11@reddit (OP)
Not a fb guy and I thought guns were even allowed to be discussed when I had an account. Dis they change?
Acceptable-Face-3707@reddit
Not allowed, but there’s work arounds. Basically people just post guns with their location and you can PM to ask for more info. Do not do this on marketplace it has to be a group.

Wonder how many bans we’ll have to do on this one 🧐
Cumminpwr11@reddit (OP)
Did I post something wrong? I can change it if I fucked up.
Franticalmond2@reddit
No, you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s the countless idiots who will see a post like this and comment asking to buy the gun (against Reddit TOS) that have to get the hammer.
