Want to make sure I’m not bottlenecking or spending more on something that could be cheaper. Spending limit is about $1k. Also wondering if this particular combo would be alright to game at 1440?

Avoid buying windows and spend the extra on 7800xt....if you are using 1440p, then it is the best. If not, then it's ok
And avoid asus Mobo... they give you a lot of problems

Agreed with this! But what’s the issue with asus motherboards? I’ve had 3 and never had any issues with them.

Like windows randomly not working all of a sudden

You can buy a new 3060 ti for the same price or take a used one and save about $100. And so it is with all components. Well, that's my opinion, I don't want to give direct advice.
