After having a seller cancel an order on me I was very disappointed. But then I came across this PC and got it for $555! Zotac NVIDIA RTX 3080, I5-12600k, 32 GB RGB Ram, Samsung SSD 970 EVO+ 1TB, Y70 Case (no touchscreen), RGB cords, Windows 11, GIF AIO, Intel WiFi 6 AX201, MSI MPG Z690 Edge WiFi DDR4.

Did you verify the components/have it in hand? It could either be stolen or a scam.
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Yes! I been using everything, verified it all. The guy said the ram was broken. 2 sticks were just not seated correctly. I love it it runs games so smooth and the cooler works perfectly. I did have to update the bios tho. Latest update was from 2021
UTGeologist@reddit
Bro seated his ram incorrectly and rage quit his PC build ๐
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Pretty much, I had my brother on the call and he knows a lot about computers he was like โRam isnโt that big of a deal for all the other parts get itโ when I took it home he was like โpush them in do u hear a clickโ Iโm like yep I do and heโs like โbruh they just werenโt in fullyโ and it worked fine

Careful, some 3080 had vram problems where the vram was factory defect and would start failing after a few years.
farmeunit@reddit
Usually mining cards. Either way, it's a good deal.
International_Use367@reddit
How would it be mining cards ๐ he said a factory problem so the issue is there before consumer got their hands on it
farmeunit@reddit
They run the memory at higher clocks. Could just be a coincidence, but every card I have seen missing 2GB of RAM was a mining card. If running at higher clocks for extended periods of time, it's more likely to fail. Pretty simple.
International_Use367@reddit
Yes. 'They' do ๐ but the guy above you said it was a FACTORY DEFECT. Meaning the problem existed before 'they' - the consumer - even touched it ๐ what are you not getting here
farmeunit@reddit
I understand what you are saying but I personally have not seen any modules die from normal gaming. And probably 30-40 instances of mining cards, which would tell me that even ln if there is a defect, as long as it wasn't mined with then it's a greater likelihood that he won't have issues. What are you not getting? Either way, he has what he has.
International_Use367@reddit
I'm not getting how you made a comment completely outside of the fact that some 3080s had vram problems from a factory defect - 'usually mining cards' has NOTHING TO DO with a FACTORY DEFECT๐ ๐๐๐
farmeunit@reddit
Well it's been out for 5 years now. Did he mention an issue? Why are we talking about something that hasn't happened?
Apprehensive-Goal641@reddit
You really cant argue with stupid huh dude cant comprehend shit
International_Use367@reddit
Exactly ๐ you are the one that said 'usually mining cards' talking about ish that didn't even happen to OP. You just had to throw in a random comment that is has nothing to do with anything. On top of that, it had nothing to do with what the guy above you even said ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

I need these folks around me !

I feel like this is the kind of person who we might see here saying something like, "My PC doesn't, should I just sell the whole thing and start over?"
KillEvilThings@reddit
Wow that's unfortunate for them, their loss but your win. Congrats fam. Great first PC - a little old in the teeth but otherwise very performant.
International_Use367@reddit
Nice PC fam also it being your first one enjoy pc life don't forget to touch grass every so often
ioiplaytations2@reddit
Where's that meme pic at? Happy for you.

Most times ram has a lifetime warranty.
decofan@reddit
Very good deal, was that the asking price or a lower offer?
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Asking price was $800, lowered him down to $555, he said he wanted a new tattoo real bad. I went to his house to test it and the ram was not ramming and he said yeah itโs been like that. Turns out 2 of the sticks were just not seated correctly. Took it home and boom fixed em and updated the bios and now Iโm gaming at ultra settings on every game I play๐

A big part of haggling is knowing how desperately they want to sell it. I always let them know they can either hold out and try to get more money, or I'll take it right now, cash in hand. Occasionally, people get really tempted by the quick offer, the guy the other day did. Got an 8TB drive for $50 when everyone else wanted $130. Talked him WAY down.
Other great deal I got was on a dining table they wanted $350 for. I said my budget was $125 but I hope they get what they want. They were moving in a week and I told him if he can't sell it and needs the money to call. He called a week later and said he was moving out of state and just needed it gone.
decofan@reddit
800 sounds like the right price, what PSU has it got?
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Corsair RMX 850x I believe
Shogun_WC@reddit
That's great for you. You definitely got luckier here with the RAM issue being an easy fix, though.
theSkareqro@reddit
Great deal. Make sure you verify the parts and that it works
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Been using it! Verified and working๐๐๐
theSkareqro@reddit
Did a clean install of Windows? Just to be safe
westcoast5556@reddit
Or linux.
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Oh, that I did not do. It already had it installed so I just been using it, should I reinstall it?
theSkareqro@reddit
I would do it. Delete all the partition and start over
Stargate_1@reddit
Insane deal, congrats! That's a great system
soupforbees@reddit (OP)
Thank you!!!
