Dont know if I should upgrade my pc or stay with the current one I have.

Been thinking about this for a few months now and I came to seek wisdom and knowledge.
My curent build is:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s)
GPU: GeForce GTX 1660ti
MB: PRIME B360M-K
RAM: 24GB
Should I only upgrade 1 or 2 parts or straight up change my whole pc.

Thx for the advice ill start working on building a new rig in the near future

You definitely need a full upgrade. If you have a good case in fans. Keep them. That's what I did. We placed everything inside, went to Newegg and bought a bundle which was the motherboard, the RAM and the CPU. I went from a 6700k to a 13700k. It went from a z190 motherboard to a z790 motherboard and went from 16 GB of ddr4 RAM to 32 GB ddr5 RAM. Then I just bought a used video card and a PSU unit

You can get a much better gpu before your cpu becomes the bottleneck in a lot of games so unless you have the budget for an entire new rig then just get the best gpu you can afford now

You're at the point where a full upgrade would be the best course of action.
Any GPU you would buy would get bottlenecked by PCIE 3.0 and your CPU. And any CPU/mobo you would get would get bottlenecked by the GPU

No hes not, and no they won'tÂ

Pcie 3 isn't that big of a deal even for x8 gpus. There are only a few outlier games that are heavily affected by it. Anyway, agreed it's best to upgrade the whole PC.

It depends on your budget.
However, I recently just upgraded from a GTX 1070. And I can say that I ended up just upgrading my whole system after first just trying to upgrade components. So many things had changed. PSUs were a bit different. DDR5. Ended up with an AMD x3d CPU which is a nice to have. Basically it had been long enough to where now this is my next 10 years PC (had the previous one for 10 years also).
If you live anywhere remotely near a microcenter, they often have fairly good mb/ram/CPU combos that are worth it. Which is what also aided in my decision to just upgrade all the things. On top of that, Nvidia just didn't play nicely with PCIe3 for me and it was such a headache that after a few days of troubleshooting I just didn't want to deal with.

New.
You could sell or donate the old one to a friend or family member
Lord_Carmesim@reddit
Everything new.

You can upgrade GPU only if money is tight. Otherwise whole rig

It is really up to your budget. U can upgrade the gpu, and get better performance in alot of games. But u wont get the maximum of your gpu, untill u upgrade the CPU.
If u got a full budget, do all. If not, u can do gpu now and save up to do the rest in half a year or something.

First question, why? And second, what do you do on the pc?
ScouseSeanMc83@reddit
Buy a used 2070
prdtts@reddit
Cant really change by parts because of the mobo not being compatible with the latest cpus and ram. Wont make sense to just switch out gpu cuz cpu will bottleneck.
Sell it for 250~300 and get a new one.
Yash_K1@reddit
Definitely go for the whole change.

Depends on your budget. I'd recommend using a bottleneck checker website to see which CPU and GPU would pair well with each other if you're looking to upgrade either of those currently.
