Need help finding a gift

My (22f) stepdad (54m) is a computer nerd, he has multiple rooms in the house dedicated to computer parts and equipment. I was looking on eBay last night, for Amiga items, and he had all of the ones that were in my price range. Amiga is the only vintage electronics I know of. I don’t want to break the bank, but I want to get him something nice. Any help on what to get him would be appreciated. It doesn’t have to be just Amiga, anything you think a 54 year old man that loves computers would like for Father’s Day.

Unless I missed it, shouldn't you tell us the approximate budget?
For very cheap, you could do a Raspberry Pi and set it up with RetroPie or whatever the new hot distro is for a ROM emulation station. Depending on the budget, get a wireless game pad and cute enclosure and call it done.

I would say TRS 80 but that assumes that there is still a crt in the house.

Commodore VIC-20 and C64, Atari 400 and 800, and the ZX Spectrum are the main other old computers types that come to mind from around that era.
Raspberry Pi if he doesn't already have some and would like something newer than Amiga-ish time period. lol

Is he interested in any other Commodore computers? Commodore made lots of different items before they got to the Amiga. The PET, VIC 20, C 64, aand more. I collect them all.

I think he likes all brands, except for apple, even though he has a lot of apple products…. Lol

u/bio4m suggested a game or some physical media, but I'll add to that maybe some promotional item or even a fan-made display piece that isn't tacky. Things like small posters, ads, old store displays, etc...

My wife is in the same boat with me. We both have the agreement that we hit our own presents and inform the other: "Hey, look at the new video card you bought for me!"
You could also just give cash.

A Pinecil?

Can you sneakily post some pics of some things he has on display? That would help us narrow down what he may be interested in.

No, he has too much for me to take pictures of. No one but himself is allowed to touch his equipment (which is fair)

That makes it tough to make a suggestion. Check his eBay saved searches or check his "Favorited" items at shopgoodwill.com. I'm not sure anyone can give you a good suggestion without knowing what he's in to.

Instead of a computer part, how about a boxed game for one of his computers ? Amiga games are relatively cheap and any old school computer aficionado would appreciate it
Otherwise : dust covers for his Amiga's (amigakit, etsy or ebay)

As a 49M passionate about retro computers, this is the answer. You will never be able to find “the widget” he needs, so look for classic games, maybe even something in box or with “complete docs”.
