Waiting for the 990 aftershock to drop a bit
blankford@reddit
I jumped on the 990 aftershock early and overpaid :/
fourleggedpython@reddit
Is it fun?
hitemlow@reddit
It seems like a much better option since you don't have to break stance to run a pump.
Both_Ad_694@reddit
Yeah but tough decision because I love mini shells. That recoil might break your stance lol
fourleggedpython@reddit
There are feed adapters for standard Mossberg to feed mini shells. Id imagine something like that will come out for the aftershock as well
Both_Ad_694@reddit
I didn't think it was possible because of the low gas/inertia
fourleggedpython@reddit
Ah that does make sense
Both_Ad_694@reddit
I think we will all just need both.
fourleggedpython@reddit
Damn that's a good point
fourleggedpython@reddit
Damn that's a good point
GigaCheco@reddit
Same!
No_Artichoke_5670@reddit
Gonna get one of these to shoot clays at my local range that mostly fudds use. I should probably get the one with the laser to really sell it, though.
engelb15@reddit
I picked up a 20-guage version one of these from the consignment case of one of my local gun shops for $200. Little hard to find good ammo, but surprisingly nice gun for an impulse buy!
FaithlessnessQuiet49@reddit
Yeah, that's a steal for sure. Honestly, I prefer the 20 gauge for my weak malnourished wrists. Lol.
JohnnyBoy11@reddit
Weak wrist gang unite and holds hands! But not that strongly!
RoboticKittenMeow@reddit
I found my people... lol
Rooster-illusion11@reddit
Full power shells aren't bad but I bought the shockwave 590S and that is the only version worth buying. Those shorties give you like a 9 shot capacity. And I threw on a crimson trace Lazer. Ultimately it's still a gimmick but it's kinda neat!
engelb15@reddit
Haha! Five shoulder surgeries and a whole hardware store of metal in mine makes a 12-gauge no bueno!
absentlol@reddit
What mossberg pattern furniture do these take? I’ve been wanting to get one and throw some old wood furniture on it and sbs it
DoublebarrelDoc@reddit
Camo for your deep woods dumpster security needs
burritoresearch@reddit
But imagine the amount of money required to do a m81 camo spray paint job on a dumpster in this economy
nobodysbeach@reddit
Yes sir, never forget the mattress wars
ChipSkylark13@reddit
Talk me out of this fellas. Feels like a solid under the bed security purchase. Anything we don’t like about this setup?
Law597@reddit
A pistol would be better for that purpose.
JohnnyBoy11@reddit
A mav88 might be better if it's just going under the bed unless you live in a small Japanese apartment room
DoctorVepr@reddit
I got 3 of em they’re cool. They make a mini shell adapter so you can run minis too. I have like 6 mini bucks in one rn. Just get it

AristoNYC@reddit
I wonder why their title has it as a shotgun, isn't this considered an other/firearm? Specifically not a shotgun.
FaultySage@reddit
Because it is a shotgun. It's just also not a shotgun.
arethius@reddit
Are these still not a shotgun with a brace attached?
Edwardteech@reddit
They are still a not shotgun with a brace attached.
LegendActual@reddit
Iffy. Even before the brace ban stuff the braced "other" shotguns went away after the ATF said that the buffer tubes not required for the function of the gun didn't count towards the added length to get them over the 26" to make it an other instead of the AOW. Remington, Mossberg, Black Aces, and Kalashnikov USA all had versions like that pulled from the market after that ATF opinion which came a good bit before the full brace ban opinion.
barrydingle100@reddit
What's crazy is that semi auto "title 1 firearms" haven't gotten hit yet. Putting something that's been proven in court and admitted by the ATF several times to not be a stock on one should be a whole lot safer than a semi auto considering they need to be designed to fire with two hands and pump actions get away with it by their very nature. Clearly double barrels aren't kosher for that reason since we'd be flooded with turkshit sawed offs if they were, and all the Mossberg 990 has to say it needs two hands is the little nerd strap.
IllSkyHelix111@reddit
are we sure about that? i kinda dug into that back in the brace wars and never could find a clear answer myself, then my tastes moved on and i never got a shockwave. it seemed to me that the weak consensus was that shockwave + brace = no bueno, but i am a very dumb person and have not thought about the situation at all since the resolution of the brace wars in our favor
Edwardteech@reddit
Its not a stock and thats not a shotgun. So afaik its not an sbs.
LegendActual@reddit
No but the only reason it's not an NFA regulated AOW is the length above 26". Having a hard time finding the actual law letter but have a link to a law firm discussing it. Remington, Mossberg, Black Aces, and Kalashnikov USA all had a factory braced "other" that exceeded 26" making them not an AOW til the ATF released their rule that the brace didn't count towards the length because they aren't a functional part of the firearm this making all these guns under 26" so they'd be considered AOW and they all got pulled off the market.

ranch_water@reddit
Do whatever you want, but adding a brace to a shockwave is ill advised. It changes the overall length into short barrel shotgun territory.
DemureCynosure@reddit
Well shit. I just assumed a brace wasn't a stock.
xKHAZx@reddit
pistol + brace is well defined to be legal now
AOW + brace hasn't been to court yet, you could be the first!
arethius@reddit
sweet
FaultySage@reddit
Brace isn't the issue if that's a Shockwave.
arethius@reddit
whats the issue then?
FaultySage@reddit
I take it back, I think the brace is the issue, as it relates to the short barrel and the pistol grip.
arethius@reddit
Crazy. Dealer handed it to me with that when I bought it
FaultySage@reddit
Yeah the shockwave falls within a very weird niche for firearms. How long ago did you buy it?
FaultySage@reddit
Pistol grip on a barrel less than 18". I'm pretty sure.
drunkenbackflips@reddit
Schrodinger’s gat
DukeoftheGingers@reddit
Because, despite wording in laws/regulations, everyone knows this is a shotgun in loophole form.
GigaCheco@reddit
Yes.
