Hey r/GunDeals,

Now that Super Safeties are super kosher, I've decided to start selling them. I noticed some vendors are selling printed ones as well, and I wanted to get in front of a few things:

These are MJF 3d printed. This is an industrial process. These are made on a 500k machine. You might have seen 3d printed firearms at Shot Show and other trade shows, or seen some of the kits that companies sell. These are MJF or SLS printed parts, and they differ significantly from FDM (traditional) 3d printed parts. They share more in common with the strength of injection molded parts than FDM 3d printed parts.
Regarding privacy and keeping order data, this is my stance: Shopify, your credit card company, my credit card processor, and everyone in between can leak your info to the feds. Super Safeties are kosher in the eyes of the law, and I don't think it helps our cause to act like we need to purchase them under the cover of darkness. I think THIS COMMENT from u/FuddArms says it best. So, this is all to say, I am not going to tell you I delete all your order info and what not. I DO NOT SELL OR DISTRIBUTE YOUR INFO, EVER. I also added a warrant canary to the website. I am prepared to get flamed for my position on this.
Regarding our "unconditional lifetime warranty" there has to be a line for an item like the super safety since it wears by design. I know a cheek riser and devoid plug are not going to break under normal use. When, not if, your MJF Nylon 12 super safety wears, I offer replacement cams and levers for $2+shipping. In order to get the replacement you obviously have to have purchased the super safety first. After 1000+ rounds the replacement cam is not going to break the bank, that's what I am aiming for at least.
I expect these to last 1000+ rounds. They are made of MJF printed nylon 12 from a US manufacturer. You will still need to provide your own trigger, which you'll need to cut, and you'll need to round your own detent pin.

I am working on getting metal ones out (no eta on this, way harder than you'd think to source these).

I have 200 super safety kits ready to go right now. They will be shipped Monday.

I'm not trying to sell them, but I'm also not going to let other people get scammed out their money. For a product that's been told by the Creator that it's only going to last a few hundred rounds in plastic. The subreddit is called gun deals not gun scams.

The creator is referring to a traditional print, FDM, which is not even comparable to the strength of MJF. You’re also not factoring into all the costs and problems that arise with trying to sell something like this. Business insurance, returns, payment processing, advertising. It all factors in. Selling gun accessories is hard because traditional payment processors are NOT gun friendly, let alone friendly towards super safeties. Is it a high price? Yes. But a metal one is $100. Do you want to give it a try before you know if you actually care enough to get one that is 3x the price? Further, the amount of money in ammo is significant. Do you really care about $70 when you’re talking about $500+ in ammo? I offer cheap replacement cams and levers. That costs money too. Point is if you think it’s so easy and a scam set everything up and sell them for $5 each.

Strength in sheer test and torque test yes, but not in shore hardness which is what matters in a part that's plastic and going to be rubbing against a metal part. I get there's overhead with a business but if that was everybody's excuse why aren't Glocks and any other items 5x the price of wholesale. The metal ones your talking about are full kits of high quality steel not just the cam and lever, yours doesn't come with anything else. You talk about not caring about spending $70 when you're blowing 500 in ammo but yet somehow $100 is the line where that's too much to waste can't have it both ways, either you have money to waste or you don't. I wouldn't sell something that's manufactured out of a material that's not recommended for its use.

I recognize that it could be better but the thing about FDM prints is even at 100% infill all of the walls have micropores, which MJF it’s actually a completely solid part. It’s literally nylon 12 with JV epoxy basically. So I recognize that it is not harder in shore value (unsure if this is actually true for powder vs filament, but possible) but given all this I want you to simply answer: what do you think is a fair price for this?

What an idiot, glad to see he got his bot buddies defending price gouging in the comments. Damn only shooting 223 who's the poor? I'm sure you paid 5x the price for all your guns right because that's what you're defending, you can get a metal SS for $50-60 for just the cam and lever. The $100 dollars kits are just that "kits" they include everything, cam, lever, rounded detent, pre cut trigger. They're also tool steel not just regular 4140 or 316. But trying to educate an idiot rarely works.

Are there any plans on a devoid plug and a cheek riser on an hbpdw brace? For the cheek riser, finding a way to attach it to the telescoping brace, or if it's attached to the hub, has it cantilevered over the gap.

If either yes or yes, especially if a double yes. You'd have my money in a heartbeat

The HBPDW is one of the more challenging ones since the brace itself doesn’t have any mounting points to grab on to. The devoid plug is simple, the cheek riser is hard. I would expect it to take 2 weeks or so.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at getting one to send you. It's one I've been interested in, for that style at that price point. But haven't grabbed yet cause of the lack of cheek weld/riser on the the brace itself when it's extended. And a devoid plug would be an added benefit. I only recently learned of yalls devoid plugs and love it. It adds the versatility of a brace with the function of a stock. Yall are doing good work.

Unfortunately we don’t have a SBT G1 brace to prototype on, but if you’re interested in sending one over I would pay shipping there and back, and provide you a free devoid plug.

As for the replacement cams and levers, I think at this very moment the answer is no, but if this is a massive holdup for everyone I can rethink it.
