I don’t know where to write this, so please forgive me if it is in the wrong place. But where and when is the best opportunity to see whales?

That boat is very close…

The whale may have approached after engines were off.

I know you can’t really answer this, but what do they think we are? Do they know we are sentient beings? Do they see a non-alive boat with people atop it, or as a big creature with many arms? Do they not even notice us, like we do ants? What do you think?

We are going to San Diego next week. I would love to go whale watching. Is there a guide you recommend?

I did the extended blue whale tour with Gone Whale Watching and it was wonderful

Thank you!

You’re welcome! I actually booked this whole trip to California specifically to go on that tour and it was absolutely worth it!

Why does this look digitally generated?

Is there a reason some whales lift their tail out of the water before they dive and some dont?
silentlyinsane@reddit (OP)
From what I understand, it’s just a personal preference lol. Some species do it more than others but ultimately it’s down to the individual whale. We spent about 4 hours out with a total of 3 different ones and only one of them showed his tail one time
