Got her in the water yesterday… Just in time for the wind to completely die. I guess the tow of shame has its merits sometimes.

And, in time to realize I hadn’t connected or put the boots on the spreader bars either. 🤷‍♂️ #ConstantMaintenance

Better than bobbing and baking under the hot sun.

Nothing a sculling oar or cheap trolling motor can’t fix.

Be careful towing at that speed and that amount of tow line… you really should have about triple that amount when towing to get the vessel in tow time to lose momentum before hitting the back for the forward boat. Just advice, that boat looks like a fun one enjoy :)

Great point! It was the only line I had in the boat and the tow provider was my dad, so I was sitting on the stern of the powerboat watching to make sure no bumps happened!

Most have outboard bracket, just needs a 2.5 hp motor or maybe electric motor, save the hassle and great for getting away/to the dock.

No shame in a tow mate. Getting out there and enjoy life is never something to apologize for — and doing it on a boat is better.

Amen to that! Haha, the worst day on the water is better than the best day at the office, right?!

Maybe stupid question—what kind of boat?

Not at all! It’s an O’Day DS1! It’s been sailed by my grandfather, my dad, myself and now my sons are learning on it. It’s no race winner, but she’s the perfect boat for us!

I had the same thing happen yesterday with my canoe sailing rig. I'm just glad I brought a paddle.
