Are there wheelchair accessible theme parks or amusement parks in the south west?

I’m planning to go away this summer to several places in the south west over the summer holidays and I would love to know where is best for people in wheelchairs to go? More specifically a child in a wheelchair. I know a lot of beaches aren’t accessible but I’d love to know where you’ve gone on days out or weekends away and fully enjoyed yourself being in a wheelchair or as a person accompanying a wheelchair user.

Following this. My son is in a chair and have much the same issues. We tried poultons park a couple of years ago. But like all theme parks they assume that you have some upper mobility. It just becomes a walk around a large park.

That’s really frustrating, I’m sorry they assume that. The best park we’ve been to that I had very little issues with was Lego land but my daughter has full upper body mobility, I’m not sure how it would suit someone with low or no upper mobility as I wasn’t thinking about that as I went round. But because of her disability we have to stay close to where we are visiting and have access to a fridge for her medications and it was so expensive. Their playroom in their hotel is really good though, all 3 of my kids enjoyed it and they have a mini cafe so you can have a coffee and cake too. There should be a Reddit about attractions over the uk that are suitable for children in wheelchairs/using mobility aids with a rating of how accessible they are so that we can compile a list of days out.

I've been to several beaches in Dorset with someone on a mobility scooter, they have ramps fro the prom down to the sand. The problem is the wheels tend to dig into the sand.

Not sure it counts as south west, but Paultons Park is a child-oriented theme park and at least some of the rides may be suitable. Depends a lot on the age of the child and whether they can transfer. Beaches - I know Studland Bay had special wheelchairs designed for sand that could be borrowed. That's a national trust beach, so it's possible other national trust beaches might too
