FIXD requires subscription?

Any Fixd users out there? Whenever I bring up the app and hit scan it takes me to a screen to sign up for a subscription. The documentation says it can scan for engine codes without a subscription but I can’t find any way around the subscription nag. What’s the secret?

I just canceled mine and requested a refund. One of the options for reasons for refund they give you is "I signed up for premium by accident." I thought I was just buying the scanner, I didn't see the part where it said I was also getting a trial membership for the premium app service. Normally, reputable companies make it clear you're going to be charged an ongoing service. Like they'll usually have an actual box to check saying you know you'll be charged after the free trial period. This one didn't or I never would have signed. Fingers crossed I actually get my refund.

I just call find to cancel my premium subscription. I WAS told it was automatically added when you purchase the basic fixd

I got charge a week ago. Good thing Apple Card stopped it. Didn’t even know they automatically sign people up for premium without telling us. Very scam ish behavior. I have to Reddit and google to realize you need your original email that you use to purchase to cancel the membership. Now I am afraid of using their device considering that company business practices

This company will do anything they can to hit your credit card....for ANY BULLSHIT reason thay can think of. I recommend using it AFTER you cancel your CC card and get a new one...If its active they'll keep smacking that bastad like a drunk in vegas behind a slot after 5 overpriced drinks...few free drinks now in Vagas

FIXD is a scam. The scanner is fine, but the subscription is deceptive and crooked.

Exactly. Buy any hardware from Amazon or Temu and there are PLENTY of free apps out there that do this for free.

I still don’t know the secret, but I closed the app and restarted it later and it didn’t nag me for the subscription.
