Anyone have any opinions on Lectric brand bikes ? Thinking of getting one just for fun around the neighborhood?

Don’t buy Lectric. Battery died second year and they are asking me to pay for a new $300usd battery. Infuriating.
abedcoolcoolcool_@reddit
Lectric is a goated brand, only one that might come close in terms of value is Diesel eBikes but I've only had mine for about a month. Jury is still out but happy so far with the product
TheNostalgiaPit@reddit
the bike itself: good. the tools they send? dont even try to use them. never in my life have i seen an alan wrench STRIP. not the screw. the wrench shaves away. truly awful quality. and the accessories are questionable at best. very cheap, very low quality. they sent my bike with a rusted rear rack and the bolts were tightened so tight in factory that I couldnt get them off and there's nothing to be done. so thanks for that cargo package! really helped...
Nice-Sandwich-9338@reddit
Most reviews are its cheap no shps wants to fix them heavy and poor braking. Buy a more expensive highly rated e bike for durability lightness range folding locks disc brakes. Stupid is stupid be smart check out reviews. You'll win big

Purchased two XP4 750s Dec 2025. Riding season in upstate NY generally doesn't start until April/May. Love both bikes. Great ride and commendable battery life so far. Unfortunately both bikes suffered a flat front tire (tube) within a day of each other during the first 3 hours of riding. One was a cracked stem, the other was a pin hole. Slime didn't help in either case. Wouldn't have expected slime to overcome a broken stem. Went to a local bike shop and bought two tubes (19.95 ea - no slime). They checked the rim and tube for spurs and puntures and offered installation on the first bike for $10. Couldn't pass that up. Fortunately I had the second tube on hand when the other bike had a flat the very next day. Again no punctures. Called Lectric customer service. I wasn't expecting a warantee on tubes but thought maybe they would step up and offer maybe a replacement tube(s) for the inconvenience. No such offer. Again great bikes but can't give service department 5 stars.

Guys I’m sold on getting one!!!! Thanks I was afraid I was part of some algorithm that was feeding me posts about this e bike! Thanks for the advice and reassurance!
someshooter@reddit
How did it go with the bike? I found this with Google.
Gottqla74@reddit
It's also an amazing company that gives back. They helped raise a ton of money for Saint Jude. Awesome folks! I will be purchasing one soon. Definitely a quality product and company.
IdidntWant2come@reddit
I'm all for them. I have an xp 3.0 it's pretty decent. In that price I find they have the beat value. But if your looking for something badass you gotta spend 3 or 4k. But under 2 grand I'm happy with my purchase. 1k miles in 2 months it's treated me well.
According-Piccolo958@reddit (OP)
Okay thanks for the input. I’ve read people say anything under 3k is junk but I’m not looking for a daily riding bike. Just for fun?
IdidntWant2come@reddit
Lectric isn't junk. It was the most nicest bike I could afford since I had to commute 20 miles for work. Had no other choice and I had to depend my job on it so with ability to repair them customer care is spot on. I can fix anything on it if it wears out instead of off brand where there are no parts to be found.
There is another brand I forget that's in the same price point that's decent. Can't remember the name though. A something?
Anyways most people issues are because they don't understand how something works. Like getting the latch to close or gears are not shifting etc. If something does go quit lectric will send you a new part usually for free. Like the screen or peddel etc.
rgkidd23@reddit
I can't even get a return call or email.
IdidntWant2come@reddit
Oh they went to complete and absolute shit when the xp4 released. I'd guess they go bankrupt cuz the dine fucked up bad.
ArmchairPancakeChef@reddit
Your comment is nearly unintelligible.
cajunjoel@reddit
Are you thinking of Aventon? They seem to be in the same class as Lectric.
newnet07@reddit
At a glance, they're a touch more refined. I have been looking at cargo bikes and can see that the Aventon hides the cable routing and battery in the frame as opposed to the lectric xpedition 2.0 where these are essentially externally mounted.
It's a minor quibble, sure, but from an engineering standpoint, it shows the difference between a bolt-on approach to engineering as opposed to product-focused approach. Lectric is producing a decent product at a great pricepoint. Aventon is a little more for a little more.
IdidntWant2come@reddit
Probably I'm unsure tbh. I can't speak for them just read a out so I don't really know.
Grindstone_Cowboy@reddit
Hey, checking in on this-how is it running these days?
thwonkk@reddit
Lectric isn't junk. It punches way above its price point. But it's still entry level.
Think about it like this: ebike conversion kits to turn a bike into an ebike cost like 1k. That covers the motor, battery, and electrical components. Lectric has managed to make a complete bike for around that price point. They have managed to sell a sound bike for the price of those parts alone.
It's not the highest quality but it's also amazing for what it is.
IdidntWant2come@reddit
I'm really i.prrssed with the xp 4. Havnt ridden one but for all the upgrades compared to the 3.0 it's crazy they didn't raise the price.
thwonkk@reddit
Same here. I bought my XP3 in January full price so I'm punching the air rn. And no more breaking your neck to put the key in.
Athen65@reddit
You're telling me. The week after I placed my order (from a local shop) they revealed the 4.0
IdidntWant2come@reddit
Funny thing the key doesn't bother me but I hear ya. But I needed my right that minute. It was funny my truck got repoed and I knew it was coming so I bought the bike and my bike showed up the day after it was took. Haha.
thwonkk@reddit
Same here! Bought it after my repo bc the bus got exhausting to deal with.
IdidntWant2come@reddit
The bikes has been great though. I'm in better shape and enjoying my rides everyday. In central Florida so weather is pretty good but coming into the rainy season not sure how I'm going to handle that... but been a good thing in all honesty. Sept traffic people hate bikes.
Striderdud@reddit
Especially with all the tariff BS
bemocked@reddit
I really really want a belt drive option/upgrade for the XP4
IdidntWant2come@reddit
Oh and I was sold on the 3.0 because of having hydroloc brakes. That was huge for it's time at the price.
ArmchairPancakeChef@reddit
I have and Xpeditiion 2.0 and am happy with the bike.
I keep hearing about how great their customer service is. I disagree. I had a very simple question about my derailleur and 10 days later they responded with a 1 sentence email a week after I found my answer on my own.
Not impressed with their customer non-service.
Federal-Pen3247@reddit
Another Chinese based product 🫤 Buy American like Hi Power Cycles, Electric Bike Company, Wyatt Bicycles, Detroit Bikes, Worksman, and HPC. 🇺🇲
AmidEvilTimes@reddit
Is there an American made company that is in the same price realm. The ones you mentioned aren't even close
WattsAGigawatt@reddit
This is the info I was looking for, as well. Trying to get in better physical condition for an upcoming hike vacation but not super confident in my fitness level to bike around sans motor. I’ve started going to the gym and also do cardio but I’d like to get outdoors, too.
worksgr8@reddit
Overpriced for entry-level E bike.
bggdy9@reddit
What's better
Trans_Rose1@reddit
In my experience, concord, i have an xp lite 2 and he has a concord, his is used but still has about the same speed, he has a much better battery (if using full assist on max gear, you go 16 miles on mine, his battery only lowers a little bit), his has larger tires, and the key placement is absolutely terrible on mine, not to mention mine has developed an issue where is clicks really loud when the motor is running
or_iviguy@reddit
I have a Lectric XP 2.0 and two batteries that I take on road trips, no complaints. It's a great bike for the money.
Horror-Fan-799@reddit
Hi, I also have two 2.0. I added extra batteries, work great. Had them since 2020. Over 5000miles. And great support.
Glad-Efficiency9414@reddit
My LCD Display is not working. Does anybody know what protocol they are using for the LCD display? I found a similar one online, and it says UART No.2 protocol. I don't know if that can be compatible with my XP Step-Thru 2.0.
Horror-Fan-799@reddit
Hi, I have 2 2.0. One screen had to be replaced .lectric replaced immediately free.
Horror-Fan-799@reddit
Hi, have two 2.0 for 5yrs. Still running fine.i did some mods, but all that comes standard in 4.0. Personally verysatisfied.
rschurch85@reddit
A good friend of mine bought a new Lectric bike (XPress 750 Step-Thru) couple months ago with the upgraded motor and battery. This bike has been a real disappointment as far as riding range. It is sold as a 60 mile range but in reality it is not even close. He is about 200 lbs and we just did a 32 mile ride in Phoenix area starting with a fully charged battery. We rode at about 13.5 mph without any wind. He barely made it back before the battery was empty. This has been typical of our rides and actually he has had to forgo some of our groups longer rides due to his battery limitations.
Another friend just bought a Velotric bike - very similar style and he gets much more range and is a heavier guy.
I have a Juiced bike which went out of business and was apparently bought by Lectric. My Juiced bike can easily do 55 - 60 miles range.
My friend with Lectric contacted the company and they were not very helpful.
My recommendation is to NOT purchase Lectric if riding range is important to you.
Dangnamit@reddit
Ordered the XP4 750w. Personally it was the best bang for my buck (with CO $450 rebate) at under $1K. Ride1Up Vorsa was a close second but my closest ebike store and service sold Lectric. Also the XP4 came with 5 “free”upgrades and claims the better battery range.
Terpene_Dreams@reddit
What store did you go to? Looking to take advantage of the current discounts

Away-Revolution2816@reddit

My wife has a lectric trike and it is great. I have the xp3 and it is awful. The trike will go up a steep hill with ease but my xp3 struggles with me pedaling as hard as I can.
TheCaffinatedAdmin@reddit
Get a shop to build it or at least look at it; I got pretty bad road rash, some big bruises, and a muscle strain I had initially feared was a broken finger, from a mechanical fault in the stem on a brand new Lectric.
No-College-7162@reddit
Stay away. We had one crap out at 250 miles, and the company wouldn't do anything about it
mizdj78@reddit
I wanted to share my experience with my Lectric XP4 750, purchased in July from a Lectric partner shop. Unfortunately, it’s been a pretty frustrating and disappointing experience. Since purchasing the bike, we’ve had multiple mechanical and safety issues, including: Front and rear brake problems A bent crank A loose and bent derailleur
Each issue required professional repairs, none of which were covered under warranty. Spoke with Lectric each time we had an issue, and they would point me back to the partner shop. Partner shop would point me back to Lectric.
In total, I’ve spent over $500 on repairs in just four months. The most serious issue happened recently where my son was riding the bike (not at high speed) when the front brakes suddenly locked, throwing him over the handlebars. Thankfully he wasn’t badly hurt, but that’s not something that should ever happen with a brand-new bike.
Here’s a breakdown of the repairs and costs: Crank replaced – $60 Rear tire and rear brakes replaced – $150 Elite headlight replaced (broke off the housing) – $110 Post-accident repairs and tune-up – $202 Total: $522 in repairs on top of the $1,500 purchase price.
After everything we’ve gone through, I reached out to Lectric asking for a partial refund, since I’ve already put in so much time and money to get the bike into safe, working condition. Lectric’s response? “Due to your bike being purchased from a partner bike shop, we are unable to offer any partial refunds, as the shop currently holds your funds for the purchase. We can, however, offer you an accessory of your choice for free.”
So basically, Lectric says to talk to the shop, and the shop says to talk to Lectric — leaving customers like me stuck in the middle with no real resolution.
I chose Lectric because of their reputation for safety, design, and customer service, but after this experience, I’m extremely hesitant to recommend them. The fact that warranty coverage and refund options depend on where you bought the bike, even though it’s the same brand and same product feels unfair and confusing.
If you’re considering a Lectric bike, especially through a partner retailer, be aware that Lectric may not handle warranty or refund issues directly. You could end up being bounced between the retailer and the manufacturer with no clear support.
Time_Squash6785@reddit
Lectric bikes sucks! No customer service no returns. Works first 20 miles and the torque quits. Unless you want to keep folding it up and go umpteen miles for a Lectric sales room, where theyay okay not know how to fix it. Better to buy a etrike or ebike from local company. Many are lighter, have better cargo space and possible usable trailers for large animal oe grocery shopping. Esther Terrestrial
Dick_Diggler2u@reddit
I bought two lectric bikes https://lectricebikes.com/ the first bike was delivered within a reasonable time frame and ran well - it was a big tired bike and took some getting used for my wife - the second bike took close to deliver and when it arrived with a broken brake handle making it unridable, I sent two messages an email and a message through customer support - both ignored - I called them directly and finally got a hold of someone a bit grumpy - he finally agreed to send me the replacement part and waited for over a week for it to arrived and bullshit link to track it resolved to Shop App that I did not have and the part never arrived, I picked up the phone again and a very nice lady looked at the order - NEVER SHIPPED and said she would put the order in - given the length of time, I erroneously thought they would expedite the part and offered an accesory to make up for the deal - I really was not interested in anything except for doing business and getting my bike working, they did send me a link to check on arrival of the part and found that - they snail mailed the part and I still don't have the part so I have lost time and they have crushed my plans to ride with my wife for a Frikcing MONTH - I like the bike but damn their customer service is something to be desired - I am on the fence on a recommendation at this point since I have not been able to use the damn thing!! Side note Rebecca was a trouper but her company has let us all down
Constant_Error_3710@reddit
This is the worst company to deal with. I ordered a Trike which was delivered without a seat. They sent a seat without a post and it has been months and months.for a post. They said, it was back ordered, however, they sell the bikes online while I am unable to use mine. I will have to seek remedy through my Amex. Go to another company for your bike.
Clean-Atmosphere6851@reddit
Had the 3.0 for about a year with 250 miles so far. Very solid and safe bike but the components are cheap. Had to replace shifter and seat so far and pedal fell off. Customer service is great. I think for $1200 its a solid value.
epaxx989@reddit
Dog shit got xp4 and it had a limiter on it they advertised that it can go 28 mph but it will slow you down even when pedaling to 20 mph and they will just tell you that your settings are wrong than ignore you for your $1300 purchase NEVER buy lectric
Farnlacher@reddit
Currently at 2700 miles with mine. No issues. Huge money saver.

Ahh....my husband and I are wanting a couple ebikes and we're thinking of getting a couple Lectric and our local bike shop told us that's the only brand they won't service -_- (and we live on an island so that complicates matters some). It frustrated and scared me a bit and as a result we haven't pulled the trigger on our bikes . We have been looking at the velotric breeze 1 since that conversation. We just want to ride around our island and have some fun.
LocalResident55@reddit
Can confirm. Many bike shops wont service Lectric, due to quality and liability concerns
TinyDino220@reddit
I think they can be good, but just be careful what/where you buy. Mine arrived with the front tire completely flat and unable to hold air. And it's not uncommon, either. They put it together wrong and typical bike shops can't fix it because of liability. It's frustrating to pull something out of the box already broken. Personally not worth the money for me.
Prize_Paramedic_4487@reddit
I had a bad experience. My XP4 750 came with a flat tire. Apparently, I am not the only one, since I have found the YouTube video about it. I am frustrated and disappointed. So far, they have not given me a solution for this. I have reached out to the customer service. Brand new bike came with a flat tire. I am pretty sure it is not the FedEx's fault but the lectric did not do QA/QC during the packaging or shipping.
ickypeppers@reddit
letric is absolutely freakin awesome. Not only do I love their products but I just think that the brand in general and their silhouette is so unique. I’m really hoping they come out with a scooter!!
rgkidd23@reddit
Ordered 2 one XP and a cargo. Xp easy to assemble but the cargo bike the handle bar assembly is backwards and customer service call department seems to be on a vacation at this point I will take it to a local bike shop to have it fixed.
jcnix74@reddit
Just in my experience, I just got an XPress 750 and after about 10 miles something went wrong with the motor where it’s grinding and sometimes unresponsive. I’ve been on the phone a couple of times with their customer support and understandably a new motor isn’t the first thing they wanted to send me. So they had me replace the controller with no luck, now they want to send me some cable. The people on their phone support are nice, but I feel like I’m not getting anywhere with them. I’ve just taken it a to a shop in their service network, which unfortunately the nearest one is 70 miles from me. I just dropped it off yesterday, so fingers crossed it gets sorted out.
cdgsyn1@reddit
I had the same issue with my XPress 750, the motor started making a very loud racket at 62 miles. Lectric made good on it and swapped the tire/motor assembly out, and they paid the local bike shop to install it. I didn't have much of an issue with Lectric. They were always eager to help.
jcnix74@reddit
I’ll add, if there is a shop in their network near you make sure you call them or confirm they’re still around. The one one actually listed nearest to me just 5 miles away closed their shop 6 months ago and Lectric hasn’t removed them from their website

I found literally the exact same bike with the same component for my friend for $750. I recommend you do your research before you purchase.
worksgr8@reddit
Many bikes are better. I’d recommend you search Amazon and look for an E bike with at least 1000 W or more. Another option type in the price point and you’ll see how many bikes are way better for the same price. It all depends on what you need in an E bike.
phaukenay@reddit

Itsjustmaggs@reddit
It actually came with the bike but we found the same one on Amazon.
NewsreelWatcher@reddit
I bought mine as I hadn’t biked in two decades. I didn’t really know what I wanted or how I would use it. The spring sale persuaded me to just buy one. As budget friendly bikes go, it was what I expected. I cost me about $1,000 in repairs at the end of one year, but still cheaper than the brand next tier up. I definitely wasn’t safe to ride when it arrived and need tuning. Spokes broke. Brakes wore all the way through in one year. Lots of loose fasteners. Still worth it. I now have a better idea of how I like to ride. I had no idea how far I could go with an e-bike even as I’m not as physically able as I was in my 20’s. Regular visits to parts of my city I hadn’t been to in years.

I have the original XPlite (cable brakes) I just sold the XPeak step through, my wife drives the Trike and I am awaiting delivery of the XP4. I have 1000 miles on the Lite and still enjoy riding it, I have had to replace the brakes but no other issues, I want the 4 for the bigger motor, top speed and suspension fork. the lite isn't really strong enough to haul the trailer I used on the XPeak for errands but its fun to ride and terrifically stable. I'm hoping for similar with the 4.
worafish@reddit
Why'd you sell the XPeak?
krschob@reddit
I felt it’s more of a bike than an e-bike? Too upright, and that was the first iteration that had a bit of a wobble problem (tried and failed to get to actually crash from it but there was some pucker factor) I rode the lite like a dirt bike, and I wanted to go back to that feel but wanted more power and range. (I have several analogue bikes so comfort and “ability to pedal long distances” react what I use the e-bikes for.
