Why are so many fellow Brits disgusted/weirded out having baked beans and rice?

Honestly, I've seen so many comments where fellow Brits can only agree on putting baked beans on toast or having cheesy beans, whilst dismissing the idea of having baked beans with rice.
It's literally what people in rice-cuisine countries do lol (feijoada in Brazil, Habichuelas Guisadas in Puerto Rico) rice, beans and sauce.
So why the aversion to mixing rice and baked beans?
