Why are so many fellow Brits disgusted/weirded out having baked beans and rice?

The "literally" part in the context of you talking about "baked beans" is clearly implying that it is the same sauce. If you had just said the meal of 'beans and rice' you would not be implying it is the same sauce, you didn't, you said "baked beans" and "literally" which is clearly saying the sauce is the same sauce.
