How careful is gofundme (or similar crowd donation sites) about fact checking posts? It seems that plenty of people are happy to donate to (what I would consider) disgusting causes if they reinforce their cultural identity. What's stopping me from making up some thinly veiled racist grievance, posting it, and asking for donations to support me in this difficult time / seek legal counsel?

I wouldn't mind taking money from these people at all, and plenty of them don't seem very discerning about where they donate.
