Do I Need to Have My Medical Card On Me To Take The Hazmet Endorsement Test?

I've been unemployed since February, dont know where my up-to-date medical card is, and the clinic I went to last year for my most recent medical card got bought out and dropped their medical records so I cant call for another copy. Google is saying I need my license, passport, and medical card to take the hazmat test, is this true? If so, does it have to be the most recent one? I took 1 for trucking school last year, which I have, and then another a few months later which I dont have. Would I be able to use the slightly older one or is it void from me having a more recent one done.

At the DMV? I wasn't aware they'd have that on file there. Could I get a copy of my most recent physical from them since the clinic I did it at got bought out and dropped their records?

You never self certified, which AFAIK all 50 states require you do? It's doubtful that they'll give you a copy. But it should be on file and you should be able to take the test.

I've never heard anything about having to? I have seen in my bit of research before this post that some states have to go into the DMV or local office for the background check but thats the closest I've seen to "self declaring" anything. Im not even sure what that means tbh.

This has been the law for 13 years. You provide the DMV with your Med Cert when you self certify. Thus, the DMV has your Med Cert on file. You also need to update your Med Cert every time you renew it.

you can request a copy of your DL record either online or in office and it will show up there with the expiration date of the medical

They might ask for it, they might not. Do you have a picture of it anywhere (phone, driver pulse, etc ?)

I have the old one on my phone, but when I was about to get a job that then said they couldn't hire me due to internal issues, I tried giving them the old one and they said they needed the new one.

Good luck, you're eventually going to need the new one. Pretty sure there is a legal requirement for the clinic to retain these records even if they change hands or hire a new chiropractor.

I know, I'm planning to get one done here soon, and will probably have to anyway for this job I hopefully get. They gave me a number to call but no one ever answered so I'm treating it like it was lost and just going to do another one.

In Texas you have to self certify and it should be on file.

Im in Alabama if that matters/changes anything.
