Hi all
Due to start TR on 737 in few weeks and would like to just get familiar with the fms a little.
Are there any apps on the store that anyone has used and would recommend?
I have msfs and the 737 add on but am looking for something for my tablet to bring on the go now.
Many thanks in advance

Honestly the training syllabus will be designed for new hires to succeed. Your airline has trained thousands before you and will want things done in a certain way and in a certain order.
Please just wait until you go to school and they will tell you everything you will need to be successful in training and on the line.

Being familiar before the start of the official training never hurts. If nothing else, OP can familiarise themselves as to how pages look like, where to find certain information in the FMC, the buttons on the keyboard, etc.

I supposse, but also in Europe where you guys go from Cessnas to A320/737, all of it could mean nothing/be confusing. I have also never really felt that ipad touchscreen translate as well as using an actual FMS procedures trainers which he will certainly have access to when the time comes.

Plus, you don't want to learn the "wrong" way (insofar as what the carrier says is the right way, is the right way, and would you like more crayons?).

There’s no real cheap ones around. This one the only free one and availability is dependent on your device. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/fms-737/id1160243181
Personally, if you have Flight Simulator, I would invest in the PMDG 737-800 and you can sit and practice the entire setup since it’s a study level aircraft.

Yes I second this. Buying MSFS2020 and get the PMDG 737. It's the best around and you can do pretty much everything that's not company specific.

Thanks. I already have both of these but was look for something more mobile/to use on the go while travelling on my ipad

Not to mention some of those FMS apps are similar if not more in price lol.
Also the hundreds of detailed YouTube videos of step by step setups for it

...are all aircraft in the game detailed to that level? Just saw the airplane I'm training in is in there, might be good practice!

You could probably find a list of all the study level ones as a number of them aren’t.
I believe the Cessnas and stuff are. But a lot of the commercial airliners wouldn’t be. Inibuilds and PMDG are the two main developers for commercial study level planes.
LVFR while not study level do good Airbus planes that are cheaper and still fun to fly
