1st job Protip: Print up some sheets with your info and bring them down to the Love's/ Pilot and hand them out to truckers, tell them you would be interested in teaming with them to get more miles in. Make sure you bring your credentials (CDLP, Med card) because they might need to send a picture of them to company HR/HQ. You're almost certain to get a call back from one of the guys. This is a great way to get that on the road training in with an experienced hand (make sure you are asking about their qualifications/driver record when you give them a sheet) and get that first job.

10-4 good buddy, thanks for the update, I didn't even know that you were thinking about going to trucking school. Keep us posted, we are very interested, passing that physical is really tough like joining the Navy seals or something. And you got a learner's permit ! Good for you, that's impressive, don't listen to these debbie downers here, they're just jealous. Now that you've got the permit you're kind of "one of us" and can come hang out and chill if you want. Come on down to your local Pilot/Flying J, You can park out with the trucks now that you've got a permit. Introduce yourself around and bring those study materials, I know more than a few guys that would be glad to help you out and mentor, trucking is a really close community like that. You could probably also get some backing practice in if you go up and ask the guys as they pull in. You should also go ahead and get a CB radio, its kind of our version of a private social media channel, that way you can join the chats at the truckstop. Good Luck, and keep the rubber side down.
