https://www.iheart.com/live/6545/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false if you hate iHeartRadio then I apologize in advance. All Memorial Day weekend, This channel will be playing. Casey Kasem America's Top 40 top 100 hits of each year. It started Thursday night, so I missed 1970 through 1973. 1973. It's on 1974 right now so I'm thinking the '80s will start tomorrow on Saturday? But the late '70s were always cool to listen to. Give it a listen!

"...and he asks which artist in the rock era had no number ones, but three number twos - each with a different haircut?
Well Tom, there were two."

My husband always plays Casey outtakes from his radio show, where he constantly drops F bombs and reams his producers! Hilarious. Every New Years Eve, I would get my cassette tape ready to record the year's top 40.

Talk about a flashback, I remember having fingers perched over the record button to smash down at the precise moment in order to create those priceless mix tapes… hahaha good times!

The system where AT40 used its own methodology to determine each years top 100 was sometimes different from the official billboard year end survey due to the time in which songs charted. Like Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" not being the top song of 1977 like it should've been, and only being #3 in 1978 because it was #1 during that November/December bridging. That gave Andy Gibb top song honors for both.
