ULPT Request: company I used to work for is now defunct. Can I fudge my employment dates?

I worked for a now defunct startup, but ragequit within 6 months. Around 6 months later, I found another job, and I’ve been at this job for ~4 years. Around 1 year after I left, the startup was dissolved.
Im on the job hunt again, and I want to avoid explaining my 6 month gap in employment to future employers. I’m considering just lying and saying that my last day at the start up was a few weeks before I started my current job. Would anyone be able to catch me in my lie?

Or leave the gap and if they ask you had to take care of a sick relative.

Just don't be too specific. If your interviewer happens to know someone from that company it could come back to bite you.
That said, I was a store manager for blockbuster

Sure, why not. Use your imagination.
