V6 Engine in Honda Accord 2009 — What Does This MEAN?? 😭

Hello, today I test drove a used 2009 civic from a private owner on FBM and they sent me this (🚩shady?) message (see 🔗)

“Trying not to trick” me?? i’m so confused.
When I got there, her boyfriend met me even though I was told it was a ‘lady-driven’ car. They let me assume it was under her name/ownership and until I asked explicitly. Also they didn’t even know what a UVIP is (Ontario) or have it. I asked like 5 times and dude didn’t bother to search it up.
He also annoyingly started the engine shortly before I walked up to the car (says was cold before this) and it was making a noise but idk if it’s weird? It was this heavy whirring. BUT it was raining very hard and I could barely tell if it was the weather or engine.
I thought this was a good car 😭😭 there are cosmetic issues like dents but no dash lights, smooth ride, almost no rust anywhere under hood and body. 200k km. they were asking $5500 but I negotiated to $4500 with safety. They offered to get me safety and accepted my request to conduct a PPI with my chosen mechanic.

Are they being transparent and honest or is this just gonna be a massive headache for me?

Get a pre-purchase inspection done.

Ignoring all the other red flags, there should not be a whirling sound. Sure it might be just out of power steering fluid, but this car sounds like a nightmare to me.

thank you. i’m not 100% sure if the sound was bad. it seemed to be loud but again, horrible weather too.
if i get a pre purchase inspection, would they be able to tell me if there’s anything wrong w the engine?
