Clamping exhaust on after cat delete?

So let’s say hypothetically someone “stole” my cats off my truck (2012 Sierra 6.2) would it be possible for me to just put a pipe there and clamp it instead of having to fully weld it on? Hypothetically of course cause I would never break the law like that 😅 I don’t own a welder or know how to weld plus if I ever needed/wanted to put cats back on it would be easier

You would need to weld but why cat delete in the first place? It doesn’t really change anything except fuck the environment and people around you…

Get two old cats bang the guts out of them, a few hits with a hammer will break a lot of it. Weld them on, look good on outside, unless tested

This sounds really fucked up without context

You would get a check engine light. You could buy kits to fool the computer.

That is the least of my concerns I’ve had a CEL for a while because of the bad cats

Jist checking, pipe, exhaust wrap and band-clamps and good to go.

How is it easier to put converters back on if you do a hack job clamp deal on a pipe? It doesn't change the work involved in installing a converter back in.
But yeah, it's going to leak.

Even if I wrap it first?

It may temporarily stop large leaks but there will probably be small leaks still and they'll get worse. I've done all manner of quick fix exhaust fixes in my life. The thing to accept with them is that you'll be back sooner than later to fix it again.

Honestly even if it just holds for a few weeks that would be fine because they need to come out because it’s starting to really effect the shifting and acceleration is noticeably worse and really sluggish so I just need a quick fix until I can save money to fully fix it

Oh, well fuck yeah go for it. It's fine.

The things youre looking for, in your "temporary repair" are walker megaclamps. Big beefy bastard band clamps.
Ilikejdmcars@reddit
You can but they’ll likely leak

Even if I wrap it as well? My full plan was to cut the cat out put the new pipe in, wrap it in exhaust wrap then clamp it on

Hypothetically

Yeah hypothetically of course

No and put your cats back on you degenerate. We all breathe this air.
