I'm a software engineer working on an ELD platform, and I could really use your input based on real-world experience.

For example, consider this timeline:

• 01:00 a.m.: I set my status to Off Duty.
• 02:00 a.m.: I manually tap Driving.
• 02:10–04:00 a.m.: I'm actually on the road.
• 04:00 a.m.: I stop and tap Off Duty for 30 minutes.

Later, I realize I hit "Driving" too early—the vehicle didn't actually start moving until 02:10.

Ideally, I'd like to adjust the log to:

• 01:00–02:10 a.m.: Off Duty (or maybe On Duty)
• 02:10–04:00 a.m.: Driving (automatically captured, ideally)
• 04:00–04:30 a.m.: Off Duty

I have a few questions for those of you using current ELD systems:

• Does your ELD allow you to split a manually entered Driving block so you can reclassify the parked time separately?
• How does your system indicate which segments are locked versus editable?
• Do you have any tips or personal experiences that might shed light on this issue?
