DPE Shortages Hawaii (PHNL)

Hey everyone!
I'm a student currently working on my IFR in Hawai'i. Currently within my flight school the DPE waitlist times have been increased considerably. My CFI-I has many students waiting for 3-4 months already. I completed my PPL last year and was looking on getting a check-ride date from a DPE hopefully this month, but the communication has been really spotty (no response). I don't know if this is common within other states or places, since I've only done my training in PHNL.
Many people have stated that there are only two available working DPE within Hawai'i so the wait times are incredibly long. Is there any way that I can work around this, or have other DPEs fly in?

You either wait, go to the mainland for a checkride, do a Hail Mary on the chance of a DPE happening to be vacationing in Hawaii, or pay $$$$$ for them to come out to you

I’m in the same boat, been waiting since March for a check ride

There’s actually 3 DPEs in HI. They are all busy because they have regular jobs. I know this is common in CA. I’ve been lucky in the past and have 1-2 months wait. If you really wanna knock out your ratings fast and you have time and money I’d recommend you go to MCA like a lot of pilots from HI do.

I’d look at flying to somewhere in the Midwest for a check ride if the current wait isn’t working for you. You might need to fly with a local place for a bit to finish up, and you’ll end up spending lots of money, but it’ll be faster.
