As People Are Abducted on Unpatrolled Streets, Syrians Demand Better Protection

Ahhh the pinnacle of M.E. prosperity and civilisation. I remember libs were celebrating this because it would own Russia, (spoiler, it didn't. Both bases are still very much operational). I remember some yanks and westerners going like "so wholesome, all the right moves! They even made Christmas a holiday". Still waiting for those right moves and for Russia to get owned. Looks like I'll be waiting for at least a bit more

It hasn't even been 6 months where the Syrian Civil War ended. The 14 year civil war has destroyed all it's infrastructure, bureaucracy and institutions.
No shit you're gonna have rampant crime prevalent.
The__Hivemind_@reddit
It didn't end tho. There is still plenty of fighting. And the government doesn't even control most of Syria
BlackAfroUchiha@reddit
It's small skirmishes.
What are you talking about? Yes they do. They control 60% of Syria with the SDF controlling the remaining percentage.
The SDF is also going to integrate into the Syrian government pretty soon. They signed an agreement to integrate into the rest of the nation (partially because the U.S. has abandoned them).

Skirmishes (and Israeli bombings) are plenty of fighting. No they don't, if you look at the map Wikipedia has up they own not even half of it. The lengths libs go to defend child killers
destroyerx12772@reddit
As opposed to Assad who used Sarin on said children?

What you don’t get is that West bad is the only thing that matters to these people. They don’t care that Assad mass-murdered civilians, in fact if they can blame the West for it all the better.
somebodysetupthebomb@reddit
Assad can suck, that doesnt then make installing former al qaeda leader Julani the correct play - and the west is bad! It should be called out!
destroyerx12772@reddit
Out of all the conflicts where they could rightfully blame America they chose the single conflict where it wasn't nearly a primary factor.
The__Hivemind_@reddit
What was that? Dude take the child killer cock out of your mouth I can't hear you
Kind_Box8063@reddit
By that definition the civil war ended via Turkish Russian arbitration in 2018 when almost all fighting stopped.

Celebrating that Assad is gone is worthy in itself. Like, no shit, they're Islamists, not the most friendly folk, quite the contrary (the fighter name of their head honcho, al-Jolani, is telling enough - as antisemitic as it gets, it stands for the Golan Heights which are a prime ground if you want to shoot at Israel).
But it's really fucking hard to surpass the utter degeneracy of Assad and his goons. I'd say even Putin is not willing to sink that low.
The__Hivemind_@reddit
You would be surprised. The new government has already begun getting there
mschuster91@reddit
In the end it will be one gang of armed goon(er)s replacing another gang of armed goon(er)s.

Ethnic cleansing is breathing freely?
