Very cool. Also very unsafe in a old piece of junk like that!
PeteLangosta@reddit
What's unsafe about flying a Su-22? besides the fact of doing so scrapping buildings, that is.
ficiek@reddit
He's not even that low and isn't close to those buildings, it's just the camera angle. I doubt it's unsafe in any way frankly.
Any_Towel1456@reddit
It's a plane with a flat nose built by communists in the 1970's. It's probably held together by bird excrement.
Cool-Acanthaceae8968@reddit
Remember.. capitalism doesnāt make things better through competition. It sees how crappy you can make things to turn more of a profit.
Thatās why the USA has a modern passenger airliner that has doors fall off and flies itself into the ground.

_QLFON_@reddit
Here is a small surprise for you - F16 flew one year earlier than Su22:)
Any_Towel1456@reddit
And how many modernization iterations has the Su22 been through?
_QLFON_@reddit
Looks like they were not needed;) I wish I can say the same for F16:)
rybnickifull@reddit
Aye not like those American planes from the 2020s, none of which have suffered any notable issues with build!
Pitiful_Special_8745@reddit
And yet it works.
I miss old cars and planes. A few empty cans and a screwdriver can fix them.
TheGoalkeeper@reddit
Even if the chance of an accident is the same, the potential damage is very high. That makes it unsafe.
Lumpy_Conference_878@reddit
where I come from, flies very high.

Guess something is being lost in translation for me and my A1 level German.
Not so deep? Should the translation be not so low?
Available_Theory1217@reddit
It has both meanings, depending on context

Danke.

My neighbourhood when I just got off a 12 hr nightshift
ganerfromspace2020@reddit
I had a black hawk fly over the top of my apartament today, like super low

I have C-130s trimming my trees at least once a week during mating season.
Inevitable-Revenue81@reddit
Such a sexy trimmer,ā¦. mmmmmmā¦
ganerfromspace2020@reddit
Low-key jealous, I work near the airport so all I get is airliners plus occasional military transport if I'm lucky but above my apartment it's mainly ambulance choppers lz black hawks are very rare but very epic. Was working remotely today and I held up a meeting just because I heard a loud helicopter
NuYawker@reddit
I had a F-117 drop in my class the other day. They weren't registered, so I kicked them out, but I couldn't see them.
zelmer_@reddit
I live next to a stadium in Poland, football enthusiasts can get quite rowdy after a game in these parts of the world. Our police is sometimes using Black Hawks. God, how many times I got scared by those choppers while sitting in my apartment.
ganerfromspace2020@reddit
I've been working remotely and I was during a meeting and I heard a noise so I got overexcited so I held up the meeting just to see what was the noise, definitely I don't regret doing so, I love anything that flies
Realistic_Count_7633@reddit
Why is Poland using a sukhoi ? I thought they use only Nato stuffs.
Plg243sbc2@reddit (OP)
Su22 were just decomissioned and replaced by FA50, we use MiG29 but not for long, they will be replaced by F35 next yesr
Ahriman_loyalist@reddit
A lot of planes from soviet era, that still can be used, so they use them. Tho yeah, they're switching to western stuff.
DRSU1993@reddit
I started to panic for a moment, until I noticed the Polish flag in the title and remembered that it's not just Russia that has Sukhoi jets. š
BiggyShake@reddit
"Over" is being pretty generous here.

Surprised there are any of the Su17/20/22 series left flying in Europe... They were obsolescent 25 years ago...
Speckwolf@reddit
Putinās airforce still does not have air superiority over Ukraine, after more than three years of all-out-warfare. The never even cross the line of contact any more but only toss bombs, glide bombs and cruise missiles from their own territory. So yeah, this wonāt really woo the air forces of NATO.

Obsolescent according to whom?
These are far more survivable above a battlefield than an A-10 is.
Careless-Field9500@reddit
Obsolescent according to the Americans, for a start! Acutally I thikn that this is probably the last 'horrah' for the Polish Su-22's as I have found an article on the net stating that they are retiring the last of theirs by the end of 2025
lr_science@reddit
Oh no, he's posting a fact we don't like! Let's downvote him into oblivion!
paspro@reddit
This plane is ancient.
yflhx@reddit
I believe Poland retired them recently (likely donated them / parts to Ukraine) and even before, they kinda were there just to be there.
Cool-Acanthaceae8968@reddit
The last F-15C Eagle left the factory in St Louis in 1985.
helioNz4R1@reddit
Produced until 1990. These were made in the mid 80s, so younger than some F-16s.
Only 8 left in PAF, they're being retired this year.
v1rotatev2@reddit
The best way for a farewell. Few years ago I had a pleasure to spend a whole day in Swidwin airbase where 22s were based. I tell you guys, double afterburner takeoff at night, standing on the edge of the runway is an experience never to forget
_QLFON_@reddit
True, spent a summer camp in Bydgoszcz when Su7 were there. we went for night flights. Same feeling. Yeah, Iām that old:)

Great video of a great plane but once again a nice aviation video wrecked with "music" š«¤
S1075@reddit
There is no jet video in existence where I would prefer to hear music over the jet itself.
Cool-Acanthaceae8968@reddit
This one was good.
The scene in Top Gun with We Wonāt Get Fooled Again is even better.
It really should have had the solo to Free Bird, though.
Jets are just noise. The kid in Iron Eagle had the right idea. This is why almost all of my 7000 flight hours had music playing in them.
whsftbldad@reddit
Maybe the pilot's name is Bennie
S1075@reddit
It's about as cliche as any song can be at this point. Same as free bird. Let me hear the jets. I can listen to music any time I want.

_QLFON_@reddit
A farewell to a legendā40 years of service in the Polish Air Force. The final ones are set to retire this year, marking the end of an era.
paulchen81@reddit
A classic beauty in my opinion.
Btw. Am I the only one who hears an old lady complaining at the end?

Those are children shouting.
