Jk franks catalyst series Keith c Blackmore mountain man Both have really great nuggets for prepping scenarios.
Both are really great reads mountain man’s main character may piss you off a little bit still a good read.
If you have one for me I would like to try it out thank you! First post I believe- A little about me grew up in Detroit joined the marines in 1997 Then army after 911
I have been preparing to prep for awhile now! But kids and life and everything now the kids are out of college and it’s just me and the wife.
I am of the scenario of keeping things heavy at my main location! Fortifying it etc I have 1 buried location near water an air bnb we rented it’s in the woods marked on map it’s central to a lot of good spots but low in population if I can make it to that area.
I have 2 go bags 4 small arms! I plan on me and the wife both carrying 1 in plain sight along with are m4s and the shotgun I will have. The other 2 will be stowed but easily accessible but kept dry. I have a lot of other plans etc but keeping things lite just so you all know I am definitely in the mind set.
I would like to get a cb radio but sounds expensive so far.
Well thank you take care and please let’s chat it up sometime I am always open to some feedback back positive or negative it’s all information to me

I've had a hard time with literature for this as I want to avoid becoming fantastical viewpoints of it. I've been wanting more instruction myself from books.

Something that might help is to sign up for outdoor basic survival course! Those course are cheap! with the instructor and other participants you will gain a lot of knowledge.
Then books like the ones we speak of become more digestible when you have a base to work off of.

This series is good, but this one is definitely the best of them.

I like Joe Nobody’s books.

Yana Vagner has some good fiction that will likely fall outside of your norm due to it being set in Russia. “To the Lake” has an English edition of you don’t know Russian. It’s also a show on Netflix. However, due to the war, the 2nd season isn’t available on that platform

I haven't read it, but really want a copy of Wild Wisdom by Donny Dust. He does DIY Bushcraft and survival videos.

Posts about books are always upvoted. Books are beneficial for mental well-being, especially for younger Redditors. With books, people are better prepared to face the challenges of the world. Books about prepping, in particular, can encourage emergency preparedness—which could ultimately save lives.
Since this post is about fiction, I won’t recommend my long list of non-fiction favorites.

I enjoyed the Borrowed World series, the first four books of the Going Home series, Jason's Tale series, Patriots, Black Autumn, EA Lake Stranded Nowhere, One Second After, etc.
There are a lot of prepper fiction good books and book series out there, just depends on if you want EMP, CME, or gain of function viruses. Some really need a professional editor before they are published.

Thank you will add them all

I need to finish a few more of my already purchased books before I start a new series, but I will look into that.

I've read a few survival/ post apocalyptic books, but IMO they are few and far between, I mainly read Sci-fi, Fantasy, Military/Spy type books

Loved the Mountain Man series. Other similar series I’ve read that I enjoyed:
Arisen by Michael Stephen Fuchs
The Extinction Survival series by Walt Browning
