Cruitire@reddit
None, I hate beer LOL.
But Angry Orchard cider is killer stuff.
redvinebitty@reddit
Boneyard RPM is an interesting IPA. Deschutes Mirror Pond is a nice malt. Bale Breaker has punched out a nice pils recently
TheBimpo@reddit
Bell's Two Hearted, Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Short's Local's Light is a damn solid trio.
oarmash@reddit
I almost feel bad listing the local TN beers, bc i still order MI beers here.
JackYoMeme@reddit
Somewhere in-between bells and founders is the absolute center of the best beer in the world. There are also breweries in Munster Indiana and Winter Park Colorado I really like.
Low_Attention9891@reddit
Old nation M43 is pretty good too if you like citrusy hazy IPAs.
littlemiss198548912@reddit
I like to add Bell's Oberon for seasonal.
TheBimpo@reddit
Yeah I could have gone Oberon over Short's, wanted to represent a 3rd brewery and style...too many choices. Michigan is heaven for beer.
littlemiss198548912@reddit
I know, it's hard. It's like should I choose what's the best easily available in the state or what's the best depending on where you are in the state.
glitterwitch8@reddit
Virginia: Hardywood Singel, Triple Crossing Falcon Smash, anything by the Veil
tlollz52@reddit
In Minnesota. 3 essential breweries are Surly, Junkyard, and Schells
The 2 mass produced beers are Grainbelt and Hamms
midwestisbestwest@reddit
Sadly Hamm's has not been made in Minnesota for decades.
tlollz52@reddit
Oh shit, where is it brewed now?
midwestisbestwest@reddit
Pretty sure it's Milwaukee now, since at least 1997 when the Saint Paul brewery closed.
midwestisbestwest@reddit
I'm from MN so my choices would be
Summit, I love the EPA, Oktoberfest, and the Twins Pils
Castle Danger, their Creme Ale is great.
Bad Weather, great brewery and beer.
P.S. Avoid Surly's, their default is to just throw as much hops as possible into their beers so they all taste like an over the top IPA, and the owner's are union busters.
digawina@reddit
Trillium - Vicinity Tree House - Julius Long Live - The All Seeing Eye
itcheyness@reddit
Nothing! Stay away, it's ours!
midwestisbestwest@reddit
I like this reply because New Glarus legally cannot be sold outside of Wisconsin.
Relevant_Elevator190@reddit
I'll just say Polygamy Porter. It's good and you will have no trouble figuring out where I live.
chileheadd@reddit
Wasatch brewery!
Relevant_Elevator190@reddit
Yeppers.
chileheadd@reddit
Had it in Park City decades ago, my favorite from them.
CPolland12@reddit
Dallas Blonde
Deep Ellum IPA
Bishop Cider Crackberry
biggestchips@reddit
You should check out Vector Brewing and Odd Muse Brewing if you haven’t already. Both make some great beers.
Bear_necessities96@reddit
Ahhh Dallas
Silly-Resist8306@reddit
Cleveland. Any three beers from Great Lakes Brewery. My favorites are Dortmunder Gold, Eliot Ness Amber, 73 Kolsh.
chileheadd@reddit
Four Peaks Kilt Lifter
gb187@reddit
Old Nation M-43 Hazy IPA Three Floyd's Zombie Dust IPA Bells Kalamazoo Stout
Rhubarb_and_bouys@reddit
A couple from Trillium
and a couple from Treehouse Brewery
Too many good ones to choose from.
pixel-beast@reddit
I’m a firm believer that Boston is one of the best beer cities in the country
Extension-Scarcity41@reddit
....which explains why Budweiser is the top selling brand in Boston.
gb187@reddit
Marketing and the ability to buy shelf space. It doesn't make it the best beer though, taste wise.
SimonArgent@reddit
Highland Oatmeal Porter and Highland Gaelic Ale.
Ultimate_Driving@reddit
Denver Beer Company's Princess Yum Yum and Graham Cracker Porter
Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout
moraviancookiemonstr@reddit
Anything you can get from de Garde in Oregon.
atlienk@reddit
Creature Comforts - Tropicalia
Sweetwater - 420 (the beer that started the micro-brew trend around here)
Monday Night - Slap Fight
1is3mmA@reddit
Going off this, I’d recommend the breweries that have won major beer industry awards, such as from the World Beer Cup, the US Open Beer Championship or the Great American Beer festival.
Some breweries that have won in the past 5 years:
Bold Monk Brewing Cherry Street Brewing Rock Solid Brewing New Realm Brewing Drowned Valley Brewing Monday Night Brewing Creature Comforts
Overall, Ga has an amazing beer scene!
atlienk@reddit
Sweetwater was among the initial flagships for micro breweries here in GA. They won awards before most of us knew what it was all about 😜
1is3mmA@reddit
Oh, I know! I’m just proud of our state’s brewers! Wanted to share the love!
rachel_higs@reddit
abita amber and parish ghost in the machine are both popular enough in new orleans that i’d consider them to be a must-try
TsundereLoliDragon@reddit
Local as in like in my immediate local vicinity would probably be Victory and Levante.
thehoagieboy@reddit
I'm going to expand your vicinity a tad and add: Troegs and Yards
pixel-beast@reddit
Ommegang Rare Vos is my all-time favorite beer. The fact that it’s brewed 10 minutes from my childhood home is just pure coincidence
thehoagieboy@reddit
I like me some Hennepin, so I get it
Aeon1508@reddit
Bell brewery Oberon
Bell two hearted
Founders all day IPA
Founders also has Kentucky breakfast stout
Those are the premier breweries.
Atwater dirty blonde is good to
seatownquilt-N-plant@reddit
the last great brewery experience I had was at Dirty Couch brewing in Seattle.
https://dirtycouchbrewing.com/#welcome
PremeTeamTX@reddit
I haven't really drink local craft beer in a while, but when I was, I would've suggested:
Peticolas Velvet Hammer
Lakewood Temptress (particularly the Thin Mint version)
Martin House Imperial Salty Lady
SoCalBoomer1@reddit
Liquid Candy, Tarantula Hill Brewing.
DaisyCutter312@reddit
Really anything from Off Color is outstanding, but my personal favorites are Yuzu Fierce and Apex Predator
Bionic_Ninjas@reddit
Any three beers made by New Belgium, but if I had to choose I'd say Fat Tire, Honey Orange Tripel and 1554.
Fappy_as_a_Clam@reddit
Fat Tire had legend status when I was in college in the mid 2000's.
Anytime anyone went west of the Mississippi they brought some back!
angrysquirrel777@reddit
Replace Fat Tire with Dominga Mimosa Sour since Fat Tire is national now.
littlemiss198548912@reddit
Do they still make Sunshine? I know when New Belgium first went national you could only get Sunshine in Colorado.
merp_mcderp9459@reddit
Fat tire’s a classic but also pretty widely available - I’d put it on the list for international travellers but you can find it in pretty much every state plus Ontario (and maybe other parts of Canada too)
Fappy_as_a_Clam@reddit
Two Hearted Ale, Oberon, All Day IPA
MainelyKahnt@reddit
"Local" as in my state: Allagash white, Lunch by Maine beer co., scruggsy by bellflower brewing, Barn Burner by two feet, Scottish strong ale by airline brewing.
"Local" as in my immediate area: tubular by Orono brewing, pinky and the grain by black bear brewing, green growth by Marsh Island brewing, smiling Irish bastard by geaghans, hipster apocalypse by Mason's, wicked Maine blueberry ale by Orono brewing.
cmcrich@reddit
Allagash is my go-to, but there are so many more here.
MaineMaineMaineMaine@reddit
Hello Mainer! Bangor area hits above its weight!
MainelyKahnt@reddit
Indeed! I was just trying to keep it to flagship brews as there is SO MUCH to choose from here and it's all fantastic!
Inside-Run785@reddit
I’m in Wisconsin, so Spotted Cow, Serendipity and Founder’s KBS.
MarcusAurelius0@reddit
Genesee Ruby Red Kolsch Genny Cream Ale Regular Genny
JJR1971@reddit
Galveston Bay Blueberry Blonde
Shiner Bock
Fulbrook Blueberry Cream Ale (only avail. on tap at the brewery, sorry---they used to can it but no more).
gratusin@reddit
Little town of Durango has some damn good beers but I’ll just pick three unique ones from three different breweries. Not necessarily my favorite, but different enough that you wouldn’t find the style at every other brewery and all good.
Ska - Rue B. SOHO (grapefruit lager) Carvers - Flux Incapacitator (Belgian Trippel X US IPA) Steamworks - Prescribed Burn (lager brewed with Habañero, Poblano and Hatch green chiles)
notonrexmanningday@reddit
Maplewood Son of Juice
Revolution Fist City
Goose Island Hazy Beer Hug
NecessaryPopular1@reddit
Delirium, Chimay, Allagash
eyetracker@reddit
Portland, Belgium?
DeathByBamboo@reddit
Black Tuesday - The Bruery in Placentia
I could pick two more beers from The Bruery pretty easily, but I'll add:
Seafarer - Three Weavers Brewery in Inglewood
Angel City IPA (if you like IPAs) - Angel City Brewery in downtown Los Angeles
one-off-one@reddit
For Cincinnati
Urban Artifact: Gadget (Sour)
Rhinegeist: Truth (IPA)
West Side: Barleywine (American Barleywine)
Drew707@reddit
There are so many breweries, but Russian River Brewing Company is usually the place most would call the "best" and if you use awards as an objective measure I guess they would be right. They have two beers that have topped Beer Advocates global best list in the past and are currently still ranked very high. Pliny the Elder (#24) is an Imperial IPA available all the time, and Pliny the Younger (#8) is also an Imperial IPA but limited release that has people standing in line for literal hours, sometimes just to kind out the place ran out. Personally, I did the line thing a few times when I was younger, but they aren't my favorites. I think Russian River's best beers are their sours, specifically Supplication (#89). It's available all the time, but at \~$15/bottle I treat it like a treat.
waka_flocculonodular@reddit
I'm a big fan of Russian River brewing, in particular Mind Circus and STA pils. Alpha Acid is a small brewery near me that I love, and Barebottle is excellent too. Other California regional beers I like are Sierra Nevada, Fruition and Corralitos Brewing companies.
Retskcaj19@reddit
There are a ton here in North Carolina but I'll never miss an opportunity to promote Red Oak. All of their stuff is great but I'm partial to Hummin'bird.
SnapHackelPop@reddit
New Glarus - Two Women (yeah Spotted Cow is the big dog, but they have better)
Lakefront - Riverwest Stein
Tyranena - Rocky’s Revenge
ayebrade69@reddit
Not necessarily local to me but Pearl, Lonestar and Shiner Bock
ChanclasConHuevos@reddit
Daruma Strange Cattle Summit Dog
newhappyrainbow@reddit
New Belgium brewery is solid and popular. 1554, Fat Tire, and Sunshine Wheat offers a full spectrum (though I haven’t found sunshine is a while. It might be discontinued).
Arleare13@reddit
Entirely depends what types of beers you like. I wouldn't recommend beers from the top IPA-centric brewery in the city for someone who doesn't like IPAs, for instance.
HarveyMushman72@reddit
Ben Light
Speed Goat
Snake River Pale Ale
JimBones31@reddit
Orono Brewing Company's Tubular
Norumbega Cider
Allagash Lager
MaineMaineMaineMaine@reddit
Hello Mainer

Most anything from Bier Brewery, Tax Man, or Guggman House.
Scrappy_The_Crow@reddit
In Georgia:
Creature Comforts -- Tropicalia
Wild Heaven -- Emergency Drinking Beer
Scofflaw -- Basement
60sStratLover@reddit
I love Karbach’s Hella Chella and their Crawford Bock
St Arnold’s Amber Ale is also one of my favorites
Roboticpoultry@reddit
I’m a fan of most of what Revolution Brewing does
DD-de-AA@reddit
Flower Power IPA from Ithaca brewery. Founders All Day IPA, 2XIPA from Southern Tier brewing when I'm in New York. Here in Baja it's HaHaha Session Ale from Baja brewing Company, Minerva Pale Ale, and Allende IPA From San Miguel
MaineMaineMaineMaine@reddit
Allagash, Maine Beer Co, Oxbow, Bissel, Austin Street (I can’t do just three :() Just covering portland metro, noy all of Maine!
Objective_Bar_5420@reddit
There are so many good ones in Alaska, but the brewers here are famous for heavy barley-wines, Belgian styles and specialty IPA's. But there are so many I can't pick three. Past favorites have been Bitter Monk, Oosic Amber, Termination Dust. So many though, and my tastes are always shifting.
Plenty-Daikon1121@reddit
I LOVE the Midnight Sun "Panty Peeler". Always stock up every time I'm up there visiting.
BC-K2@reddit
Anything from Tarantula Hill and 805.
Not sure I'd call them must try, but probably the most popular from my area.
msstatelp@reddit
Gotta Get Up To Get Down - Wiseacre Brewery
Damn Near Kilt Her - Grind City Brewery
Goldcrest 51 - Souls & Spirits Brewery
TheFacetiousDeist@reddit
Miller High-Life, PBR, and Budlight. Honerable mention to Busch Lite.
LteCam@reddit
This coming from a Mainer is hilarious
TheFacetiousDeist@reddit
🤷🏼♂️🍻
tsukiii@reddit
That’s really hard to say. My favorite San Diego breweries at the moment are Pure Project, Harland, and I think Burgeon.
Amockdfw89@reddit
Rahr and Sons, Franconia and even though it’s kind of a national mainstream beer I still like Shiner
OldBat001@reddit
Hangar 24 is the only one I can think of.
merp_mcderp9459@reddit
Not my state but Brown Chicken Brown Cow is an excellent brew that I’ve only been able to find in Florida. I’m a fan of 7 Locks, which is a Maryland brewery. Their Potomac Fog (NEIPA) and Grubby Thicket (brown ale) are both solid
Rich-Contribution-84@reddit
What styles of beer do you like? Hard to boil it down to 3 if I don’t know that you love stouts but not high ABV stouts or that you love west coast IPAs but hate haze or that you only drink Belgian Ales, etc.
rawbface@reddit
Cape May Brewery has something for everyone, and every brew is fantastic.
My more local favorites include Double Nickel and Bonesaw breweries. My most local breweries are Spellbound and Bout The Hops, but they are both full of strong and dark IPAs with high IBU.
trinite0@reddit
We've got several good local breweries here in Columbia, Missouri. These are not my personal top three favorites, but three distinctive ones worth trying:
Logboat Brewing's Snapper American IPA
Broadway Brewery's Rise & Fall Octoberfest
Burr Oak Brewing's MoMo Dark Ale
Honorable mention goes to Flat Branch Pub & Brewing's Green Chili Ale, which is a distinctive experience whether you like it or not!
Devious_Bastard@reddit
If you are ever in north central Illinois check out Wishful Acres Brewing. Pick any 3 beers there.
HorseFeathersFur@reddit
YeeHaw has several really good varieties. And Smoky Mountain Brewery also makes some tasty beers.
DrGerbal@reddit
Depends on what beers you like. But brewery wise in Birmingham top 3 no real order is Birmingham district, cahaba and ferus
Slight_Commission805@reddit
Cahaba!
etayn@reddit
Milwaukee, WI: 1840 Brewing Company, Component Brewing and Torzala Brewing Co.
02K30C1@reddit
St Louis has a lot of excellent local breweries. If you’re really into good beers,
Abraxas from Perennial Brewing. It’s a Mexican chocolate imperial stout, tons of flavor.
Voltron IPA from 4 Hands Brewery. Technically this is a series of beers, made in collaboration with other breweries across the country. They’re up to number 8 now. Each one is an excellent IPA
Green Chili Ale from Main and Mill Brewery. A light ale with lots of fresh pepper aroma and a nice after burn.
Spam_Tempura@reddit
Honestly there’s a lot of great microbrews in the state, but if I had to pick 3 I’d go with: -Lost 40 love honey bock -Flyway Bluewing -Ozark beer Co. American Pale Ale.
