E-sports competitions where cheating and hacks are fully encouraged and it’s a battle between who can cheat/hack better

I feel like it would get to a point where the hacks are so good it’s auto win. Then it would be a programming competition for who can make the fastest program
SuperFLEB@reddit
A faster programmer just means you've got to up the game beyond programming. Send out bogus entry materials to draw away competition. Sabotage equipment, or infect their supply chain and sell them compromised equipment. Get people to start intimate relationships only to betray them just before the game, to psych them out. Employ threats. Spread rumors. Use imitations or deepfakes to convince them their loved ones are in peril. Infiltrate the contest's governing body and give your team the win regardless of what happens.

Send strong people with clubs to discourse competition.

Might as well allow straight up assassination

This went from "haha, virus in your device" to death threats real quick

Kind of like the recent Super Mario Bros. 3 speedrun in 5 microseconds?

I mean either that or somehow sabotage the other person.

You should look into the M.U.G.E.N cheapie war. It’s pretty fascinating.

Which is certainly something interesting in itself to be fair

heh. It could be fun to think of the most diabolical stuff.
I wouldn't even focus on the game... but just straight up ruining someone's computer/connectivity/life.

In games like dota, lol, StarCraft it's probably gonna be AI vs AI and actually pretty fun, I would be happy to watch it, but not really competitive for the players.
In shooters like counter strike it's gonna be aimbot vs aimbot and pretty stupid I think. I suppose for example in CS CT gonna win almost every round because with aimbot holding is much better than peaking.
Lazyade@reddit
This kind of happened with Mugen, a freeware fighting game engine that lets people make their own characters and adjust basically everything about the game. It started with people just making overpowered characters and once you got through characters who win as soon as the round starts and then characters who win BEFORE the round starts, the logical endpoint basically becomes creating malware to prevent the other player from even loading the game or turning on their PC at all.

This is a good video for anyone who wants to know more about this

I once watched one where a game was being played by pros against casters of said game. One caster got sick of being stomped so he got up and took a hammer to one of the opponents keyboards.
Does that count?
CantaloupeDouble4079@reddit
you’re describing the average *nix user.
RandomLolHuman@reddit
Are you saying most nix users are cheaters, or that most cheaters are nix users?
CantaloupeDouble4079@reddit
I’m saying that most *nix users would rather play with the source code and see how far they can get before something breaks than play the actual game. If that’s “cheating”, so be it.

Also code assisted speedruns kind of
Superslim-Anoniem@reddit
So 2b2t?
WSBJosh@reddit
"Speed running" What ever is planned is insanely BM.

Question: can we also enhance the players with drugs/implants/cybernetics?
arabcowboy@reddit
What if… you can use a hack once. And once it’s used or discovered it can’t be used again by anyone but a win is a win. So you either discover your competitors hack or clandestine your hack so good you win a round and have to announce your hack. Bonus points if no hack is used. If you claim no hack and a hack is discovered you forfeit 2 games automatically.

Red Team / Blue Team CyberSec exercises. Sure there's no "real" winner, but we all know who wins...
gnarfel@reddit
I think that’s just a normal robotics competition

That’s called CoD ranked above silver
WanderingRobotStudio@reddit
We have these, they are called capture the flag tournaments in infosec.
bourj@reddit
But then why even have the E-sports component? Just give hack on hack action. Pick a server and first one in wins.
Im_high_as_shit@reddit
Every "game" will end in a draw.
