Extended warranties - how to get a good one?

Been scammed in the past with a third party sold by the VE dealership (things like the radiator and head gasket were denied) it basically covered nothing.
I read if you get a manufacture issued they can be worth it. Any truth or do they all suck?
Vehicles considering - BMW x2 or x3
Lexus UX (not likely a warranty need)
Mazda CX50
Acura RDX

had a platinum third-party plan through a dealer and it turned out to be full of exclusions when i actually needed it. radiator denied. sensors denied. total waste.
ended up switching to 1dollar warranty when i got my CX-5. they let me pick a plan that actually matched how long i was planning to keep the car, and it covered all the big stuff like powertrain, electronics, ac

I had a dealer plan on my old X3 that barely covered anything beyond the engine block. Switched to 1dollar warranty as well when I got my current ride and it was night and day. the price was way more reasonable than what the dealership tried to upsell me

Do not get it. Total scam

Almost all those aftermarket "warranties" are one baby step away from an outright scam. They'll find any little way to deny your claim, especially if it's for something big like an engine or transmission failure.
Save your money, keep it squirreled away, and don't touch it until you need it to fix the car. Don't give it to some scammy company on the hope that maybe they'll pay for something in the future, because they almost certainly won't.

The manufacturer ones are the only ones worth getting Dodge’s extended warranty works at any dealership approved (mossy and dch for example) Make sure the warranty can be used by multiple dealerships first. TBC I got my extended warranty through Chrysler bank.

No aftermarket warranty is worth it. When you use it the company will fix it the cheapest way possible and it will be a nightmare.

Dealer warranties can be quite affordable and cover everything that they should. You still won't get your money out of it but the value add and piece of mind is worth more than a few thousand. Hell I took mine just for 4 more years free towing and jumpstart/lockout services.
Pretty much all third party warranties suck and you will 1000% never get any sort of value, literal or perceived out of them.
