The flaw with that question is did American culture really exist before the Irish, Italians, Germans, and English came over? One could argue those immigrants created it with their influences. Regardless, those people built America into a success story whereas you could argue places like the EU are experiencing the opposite effect.

Those groups I mentioned came over as early as 1500 though. The point is before that there were really only the natives but I'd hesitate to call their traditions "American culture" because nobody practices them today.
For instance, Pumpkins on Halloween were an Irish and Scottish thing they brought over but most of America still does it.

Do you know why Ireland "stopped with all the terrorist shit"? It's because the rules of oppression in NI were for the most part drawn back and removed. There were still moments afterwards but the peace held because the tyranny was mostly gone.
You cannot expect people to stop resisting tyranny just because you keep murdering, torturing and debasing them. Those things only inflame the hatred of the next generations.
Your only options are utterly obliterate all of them, to essentially the last man woman and child. Or you can let them be free. Everything else is a half measure that only delays the inevitable.
Technically you can also conquer and integrate them, but that only really works if you have a much larger nation and can spread them all out throughout your nation to destroy their culture, but that's not applicable here. You can also sometimes re-house them elsewhere on the globe, but once again, not applicable and even then that solution is a double edged blade.

I'm literally Irish, I'd know. And there is a distinct difference between terrorism and resisting tyranny. The "new ira" are not fighting tyranny, they are just a gang of drug dealers. They don't have the support of the public in the north, which is the defining factor of a resistance movement versus a terrorist group.
It'd be funny if Americans could realize just how ironic it is that they live in a nation that wouldn't exist without people they would now consider terrorists. As it is it's just sad that the brainwashing has gone so far.

And by the way, the conquer and integrate goes back waaaay farther than Islamic imperialism. Hell it goes back farther than the Mongolians, the Romans. The earliest known culture I'm aware of that did it and succeeded in doing it was the Babylonians. Though I have seen sparse research that the Yangshao engaged in the practice earlier. Records going back that far are hard to trust though.
And there's a reason I said re-housing an ethic group elsewhere is a double edged sword. It almost always leads to war and the anhillation of the majority of the indigeonous (or re-housed, if they lose) populations. With the biggest examples of this being Australia, the USA and Ireland. Though there are a few semi success stories like the Byzantines who integrated both the natives and foreign Romans over hundreds of years and became the dominant world power.

The end of the Troubles as we know it was in 1998 with the Good Friday Agreement. It’s pretty well recognised here as the end of it officially, anyways. There were residual hostilities for sure, but now all the paramilitaries do is work in the drug trade lmao.

True but I'll give the above guy some credit, even though I doubt they'd do the same. The weapons were partially imported from the USA and there was a distinct affect on illegal weapon imports after 9/11.
Though I would argue that has waaay less to do with terrorism not being popular and way more to do with airports checking bags after 9/11.
But even as a contributing factor the slowing of weapon imports was only a small factor, with the GFA being many times more important.

I was not defending genocide. I was pointing out that there are TWO genocides taking place. One against Israelis and another against Palestinians.
So does a number of other factions and states. Like I said, a genocide does not need to be successful to be considered genocide. An attempt to erase a people or culture is considered genocide and Israel has lived with people who have been making that attempt for 80 years.

There isn't an easy out for Israel in Gaza right now and out of all the options they have, they're choosing the worst one: Genocide. If the objective is to drag the genocide on for as long as possible to inflict as much suffering as possible, Israel is succeeding at that.
You equate war as if this is a conflict where-in both sides are on equal footing. Gaza and Israel are not equals. Gaza is a country that has been effectively blockaded and controlled for the past 30 something years. It has been prevented from integrating into the world economy to achieve economic prosperity and instead been one big giant concentration camp. If you want comparisons, you could probably make some parallels between the jews that were rounded up during the holocaust and put into camps. Israel, a country of jews that have an tragic history with the holocaust seems intent on repeating the holocaust only the side of the perpetrators.
Lets be real here. A two state solution is not even viable solution because the Israeli government is content on allowing funds to reach Hamas to prevent such a scenario occurring. The Israeli government was content to allow their own citizens to die on Oct 7 than to see a two state solution. If you think for a second that Gazans are the barrier to preventing a two state solution, you are lying to yourself. I'll just say this, if both sides didn't hate each other so much, they would have come to a solution already. But the hate perpetuates throughout generations for people event unrelated to the hate. Like the old Russian idiom, better to hate your neighbours than to improve your own situation.

The Good Friday Agreement of 1998 was not in any way substantively different to the Sunnigdale Agreement of 1973.
A devolved, power-sharing Assembly with a mandatory coalition government comprised of unionists and nationalists, and an undertaking that if the majority of the population of Northern Ireland voted for Irish reunification, then the British government would respect it and implement.
If the Agreement reached in 1998 was almost identical to the agreement reached in 1973, then what exactly did the subsequent 25 years of murder, violence and mayhem achieve?

Most ethnic groups do the ethnic gang and then adapt thing. Some groups stay strongly sub cultured for longer though. Certain Hispanic (Mexicans in CA and Puerto Ricans in NY) and black areas frequently do not assimilate as fast but I think there’s more assimilation than is sometimes recognized.
Filipinos seemingly skipped the gang part though they seem unique in that. In the US anyways. They seem to be remarkably adaptable people with notably low gang culture adoption. I’m certain there’s exceptions but for a pretty prevalent immigrant group in the US, they really do not seem to fall into this.
I do live on the east coast and so there’s a lot less of them over here than the west coast but I haven’t seen them make gangs here and not really heard of them making gangs over there.

I think one of the biggest drivers of assimilation is whether a group is reaching enough critical mass to recreate its own culture in another country within a short time period. This is why sudden, large-scale migration leads to worse assimilation, because they just do things the way they used to back home. The best example may be Muslims in the UK vs in America. American ones have no cohesive cultural identity and are much more assimilated, while the UK ones are sometimes so religious (at least they pretend to be), it weirds out regular people from actual Muslim countries.
Another thing has to do with cultural identity. Those who are proud of their culture retain it better than those who don't have that same level of cultural identity or pride.
