I mean, both can be true. Panic and economic damage can also be a goal while trying to minimize loss of life. Easier to get the moral high ground if your attacks are designed specifically to avoid civilian casualties while the other side has stopped caring about civilian and humanitarian casualties. Not saying it's right by any means, but somebody looking from the outside in will pay more attention to the effects rather than the intent.

The point I am making is if you can’t define this conflict as a genocide successfully, you shouldn’t be going around using the word.

There are many reports by legal and military experts that what is happening can NOT be considered a genocide in the scope of what we as a society. Just because your favourite tiktokers and the fucking BBC keep perpetuating the term does not make it true.

The major factor in genocide is intent. Please explain to me how Israel is INTENDING to commit genocide. Don’t you think they would have already done it to a MUCH further extent if that was the goal? Even if we take Hamas’ claim of death numbers as true (which is a stretch) the percent of people killed to population is 0.02%. The civilian to militant ratio is the lowest in any urban conflict in history.

The US would announce upcoming bombings of certain areas by dropping leaflets from aircraft. And they've been doing that since at least WWII. It's a pretty common thing in war when you want to pretend you aren't trying to hurt civilians.

In this case, someone claiming to be a spokesman for the Houthi posted it on twitter and other people translated it to other languages.
