You don't seem to understand. We actually gave a fuck about civilian casualties. If it was total war we could've absolutely steamrolled Vietnam and Afghanistan. But killing innocent people is distinctly European, a la Holocaust.
Doesn't understand that they were non essential in either war and still lost to rice farmers 40 years later anyways
Uh huh. Yeah bud. The Japanese Empire just committed mass suicide after taking half the Pacific. In case you didn't know, Europe was half of WWII. The United States fought nearly single-handedly in the Pacific Theater against the Japanese. We split our forces across 2 theaters on opposite sides of the globe because we were so powerful militarily.
Also it's comical a European thinks the US didn't help. Last I checked France was gone, and Britain was next on the chopping block.
Kek, Russia won the war in Europe. About 6 times the amount of Germans died on the eastern front compared to the western front operations. The Soviets had already stalled the German offensive on Moscow and moved a portion of their means of production eastward before the US entered the war. The main value of the US was their lend leases sent over the course of the war. Which, granted, were a massive help for the war effort. But the Germans would have eventually been gutted by the red army after they had gained time to focus on the eastern front in Europe. And the Germans had never prepared for a drawn out offensive against the Soviet union. They only anticipated a quick capitulation as with the other European powers they had occupied. And the British would have been able to economically strangle the German maritime trade like in ww1, which they had been doing. German material shortages would only get worse as they had limited fuel and oil along with others to sustain production. The main threat was the German U-boats, but rapidly advancing sonar and radar was quickly diminishing the viability of wolfpack raiding. The Europan war would've taken longer, cost more lives, and led to greater territory gained by the Soviets post war. But the axis would've lost in Europe.
Japan on the other hand is a different question. They were not only resource starved and newly industrialised. But their equipment was outdated and insufficient, along with their naval and military doctrines.
The Japanese had taken a great amount of effort to push into china during the second sino Japanese war that started in 37. They still didn't have the oil or material to sustain themselves, hence their strike on the Indonesian powers which pitted them as enemies of the allied powers. Despite France ceding Indochina to them. They knew they could never win against the US and wanted to scare them away with a decisive strike on pearl harbour so they wouldn't maintain a hold over the Phillipines. Their manpower was stretched thin, their navy would have lost to the British once they would have been able to divert forces to regain British Malaya. Especially with India, Burma, and Australia being close enough for them to stage offensives and resupply. Japan gets too much credit for what they were able to do. They took over half of a country full of untrained and I'll equipped militias, occupied colonies of nations already strained by the war in Europe, and held some shitty Pacific islands and did some brutal combat. Which was a lot considering their limitations. But they were never going to keep up
It's a contest to see which country can make the best generic pop music to play in the background or Kia commercials (this is actually what it all sounds like)
Literally. It's a music competition where the judging is normally based on how flamboyant and over the top the musician/singer is. Most of the music is god fucking awful. Generally the judging is less about the music and more about who is made it and why. Similar to bad modern art that people overly praise
The most popular American songs are about black rappers getting herpes, commiting street violence, and calling each other pedophiles, and most recently, just fucking heiling hitler.
Using that same logic, every song from the UK are those shitty drill songs and everything outside of it doesn't exist lol.
Even within rap and hiphop itself, despite how god awful the current environment is, there's plenty of variation beyond just the slop that gets popular. Not that you're wrong considering it is infesting the industry (since people love that shit for whatever reason) but it's not representative of burgerland music as a whole
- The main sponsor is Moroccanoil, an Israel company which is pumping incredible amounts of money into the EuroVision
- Isreal has done a huge campaign to get people to vote on their countries, you will find many music reviewers finding their song to be mediocre at best but somehow it gets all the points
- Russia specifically wasn't "banned" but is more so disqualified, in reality about 10 countries said they would pull out of Eurovision if Russia kept participating so they disqualified Russia from attending and this is still in effect, the same countries however are not doing thing for Israel.
Actual answer: actual Eurovision is a broadcasting network so, for example, the UK can send a feed of the coronation so it can be broadcast elsewhere or news shared etc.
[The] Eurovision [Song Contest which] - defines eligibility as being within the EBA (European Broadcasting Area) The EBA has boundaries defined as lines of latitude and longitude, to accommodate the whole of Europe these are far enough south that North Africa is included, are Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Iraq. So almost all Middle Eastern countries north of Saudi are eligible, but almost none do. For some reason Australia entered at least once, maybe more, I don't watch it.
I hate ESC and they held it 20 mins away from me this time. Switzerland only won last time because a "rapper" suddenly trooned out to become relevant again. It is literally a LGBTQ+ World Cup, but soon it will become a TQ+ World Cup once they realise that being gay isn’t counter-culture or provocative enough. The fact that Israel got second place all the while there were palestine flagged protestors just outside the venue should tell you everything.
The spanish national TV put on a card before the broadcast saying something like "silence about a crime is not right" and the EBA sent them a threat about not making any political statement about the issue, especially against Isreal
This thread is so telling of /pol/tards and their blatant fake news. Moron posts a result that briefly shows Israel winning except they didn't in the end, then claims it must be rigged. I was in the thread, after I pointed out multiple times that Israel didn't win they moved the goalposts by claiming DA JOOS still rigged it just not enough to win. What a bunch of absolute dipshits.
There’s a jury from each country who votes and gives out x amount of points to each country. Israel did ok. Then came the public’s vote and Isreal did the best so we’re temporary in first.
Austria gained more jury votes and won overall
They didn’t do ok. They were on the right side of the board and then magically received the most public points by far and got exactly one point above the second place.
Not getting the most points is proof of deep seated antisemitism on behalf of the Europeans. To compensate we should send another 8bn to the west bank child rape jails
Yea that's crazy since every single post about this I've seen (dozens) was this exact picture with "Austria won" as the caption. Talk about fucking confusing.
