Inspired by the strength and serenity of whales, here is my painting. A tribute to these giants of the sea! ππ

u/AnneSopieTal may I have permission to possibly use this as a tattoo idea for myself?

I just realized that I need whale art for display

Oh thank you so much! Whales have something so soothing about them to paint β¨

Pretty good but you have mixed and matched whale species into one animal. You have the pectoral fins of a humpback and the face of one of the other rorquals. From the angle and position, the dorsal fin is on the side not centred and the throat ridges aren't really showing
God job though!

Thank you! Maybe in my painting its a bit confusing but I was actually inspired by the humpback whale when I created my painting π€
TesseractToo@reddit
Yeah I know, you will get better with practice!
For example, humpbacks uniquely have a bit of a "chin" and then right after it there is quite a concave area, they have a tummy andthe dorsal fin in humpbacks is kind of a unique shape
keep at it!

Thank you so much for the tips, thatβs super helpful! π Iβll definitely pay more attention to those details next time. I really appreciate the encouragement! π

This will help: https://www.drawright.com/
I don't know if that illustration was your source material but if it was, that is a side view and your drawing is looking from below and at an angle so unless you can visualize in 3D (from this image it doesn't appear that you have that skill) it's not a good source image for your work. Sculpting or 3D modelling will help.
