Buying AM4 in 2025 is pointless. 5700x3d is as good as AM4 gets, there are no upgrade paths from there. It's always nice to leave some room for future upgrades.

If you are sticking to ddr4, for games, 5700x3d. For ddr5 get an am5 amd cpu.

7500f/7600/9600x.

I will counter that at $110 for a 12600kf that can make good sense with ddr4 and a used motherboard.
It's got no upgrade path really, but it's a damn fine machine.

Go AM5. I made the switch from 13600K to 7800X3D
VLAD1M1R_PUT1N@reddit
For what purpose? Do you already have an existing system for one of them? If not I would go AM5.

Та мне для игр, в основном кс, вроде как на ам 5 еще оперативку ддр5 под процессоры надо будет брать. Щас у меня ваще i5 9400f

If you want to keep the DDR4 and save money, you have two options. One, a cheap Z790 board like the Z790 PG Lightning DDR4 or MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4 and 12700K (skip the 13th and 14th gen, they have issues and 12700K has a good price now). Two, a B550 board with 5700X3D.
Option 2 has a better CPU for games but an older B550 platform. If your need are modest (you don't need 2+ Gen4 SSDs or many faster USB ports), it will do. Also, 5700X3D is easier to cool.
Intel option has a decent allround CPU and Z790 is a better featured platform than B550. If you're only gaming, you don't need to worry about heat and something like Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE or ID Cooling Frozn A620 Pro SE is enough to cool the CPU, especially if you undervolt it (that's why a Z series board). Depending on the game, 5700X3D might still be slightly better for gaming.
Or get an AM5 board and CPU, since you're changing the whole platform anyway. A cheap B650 board, Ryzen 7500F or 7600 non-X with 2x16GB DDR5 6000 CL30 shouldn't be that much expensive than previous options...

Unless you have a really nice kit of DDR4 I think it's worth it to bite the bullet and upgrade. DDR5 isn't that expensive, you can get good kits for $80-100 that will easily last you another 5 years on AM5.

13600k is slightly faster, but a 7600x is also at basically the same performance as a 13600k with a better upgrade path. It's also easier to cool, and doesn't have issues like the 13th/14th gen CPUs do. You would need to update the BIOS before installing the 13600kf to be completely safe.

Just go for AM5 if you're building fresh. (7500f/7600)

Go for ryzen 5 7600x
