I'm not sure that a reboot would be the way to go though. It gets compared to the original, and, it's never as good. Period. Because, those who do get casted get stuck in a no win situation. Either they decide to act exactly like the original actors did, and get crap for that. Or, they do the opposite and decide to go entirely against everything that everyone loved about the original actresses. Not to mention, do you do the same exact stories, or do you do entirely new stories. If you chose to use some of the same storylines, then you get horrible stuff like the 'new gorn' in Star Trek Strange New Worlds, or you get the utter horror that was the 'reimagined' Klingons in Discovery's first season.

I get the feeling that when people are working in Hollywood, they want to make their mark. Doing the same characters, the same stories, that's not making their mark, so, we get the utter horror of the Star Trek Discovery first season Klingons... **shudder**

Now, a new story in the universe (probably set in the future, after the FIN time) with those related somehow to Xena/Gabs, etc. A kid, or a fan, or something along those lines would be interesting. And, then you do bring in the original actresses too. But, they can still keep living their lives and their careers, and, the young'uns can do the hard lifting of a TV series.

But, having another Xena, another Gabrielle, another Ares, but, played by other people. It will never turn out well, just as it usually doesn't turn out well in other IPs.
