Is Lectric a good brand?

My gf and I want to get into biking together, I already have a cheap Walmart branded ebike (Concord)and was thinking of upgrading. My gf already has her eye set on a XP4 Lectric bike. Is this a decent bike to get for a beginner? And if you have it what do you think of the bike so far? Thanks

Don’t buy Lectric. Battery died second year and they are asking me to pay for a new $300usd battery. Infuriating.

No. Someone just posted that a Lectric XP snapped into half during the ride. This is a horrible failure!

To be fair. Could happen to any bike made by any manufacturer. At the end of the day these things are made by people and sometimes mistakes just happen.

I have an Xpress 750 and like it very much. The crank and pedals klunk and the derailer isn't great but the bike runs AOK. Few people can afford $5000. for anything, let alone a bike. Fact is, most people would struggle to pay $1300. for a bike. I'm glad I'm lucky enough to have an ebike and I would recommend Lectric.

I bought an XP3. It required work out of the box as many bolts weren’t tightened properly. $700 of work a year later. Brakes had worn completely through. Broken spokes. Replace seat post. It is a good start to see what I wanted out of an electric bike. The folding function is pretty useless. I’d rather use a rack when driving with it. Knobby tires have thankfully been dropped in the XP4. I’m thinking when it becomes a money pit in a couple of years then I’ll upgrade to a bike that better matches my needs.

How many miles you put on it?

We have the expedition 2.0 and XP4. I absolutely love ours. Our friends have the 3.0 and have had zero issues. I would definitely recommend them whether you are experienced or new to ebike like us. Customer care is hands down the best. We live in Missouri and take ours camping with us you would be amazed by how many people stop and ask about them.
I included my referral below if you decide to purchse.

We have owned 8 Lectric ebikes - We are down to 4 bikes right now. A great bike and great company.

Seems to look and have the same components as all the other bikes in that category.

Honestly, it's a mixed bag. The company and customer support are great. The quality of the bike itself is mediocre at best.
I received my XP 3.0 with 2 stripped out bolt holes and the corresponding bolts loose in the box. Manufacturing defect.
The frame and most components are identical to a bunch of cheap "Amazon" ebikes. The components are cheap (cheap front fork that works, but has a ton of flex; Tourney drive train is as low-end as you can get and it's difficult to get it to shift consistently due to poor tolerances and cheap manufacturing, etc). XP 3.0 lacking some features of modern folding ebikes, but the XP4 has caught up.
The main difference between the Lectric and the similar cheap "Amazon" ebikes is the company and customer support. Lectric sent me a new bike after I revealed the aforementioned frame defects. What you pay extra for is the peace of mind, not necessarily the quality of the bike itself.
For beginner riders they are fine, and have the backing of a big American company. For advanced riders (I ride MTBs that are north of $5k) or those who are used to quality bikes and components, it feels no better than a wal-mart bike.

I’ve been very happy with their phone customer service. Also check if they have a repair shop affiliate near you. If she doesn’t need folding, I would consider the Lectric Xpress. The XP4 is heavy.

It's an amazing value for that price. You get really decent everything. I do recommend getting the 750 watt. My 3.0 is a little lack luster on hills. But other than that I have been super happy with my 3.0. 700 miles in the last 2 months so it's early but customer care second to none if you do have am issue.

Lets be clear, the 3.0 XP is fine if you are pedaling.

Like others have said Lectric is a great value brand, miles ahead of similarly priced Amazon fake brand bikes. They actually use decent entry level components, they have customer service, etc.
So yeah, it would be a big upgrade for you and this is an excellent entry level bike.

Lectric is great IMO. I have the xpress 750. Enough power for anything and everything. They have quick customer service and having had the xp3.0 prior I would say the bike you are looking at is probably very nice.

I'm quite happy with my Xpedition, and my kid loves their XP 3.0. Had them since January. So far, they've been pretty great. I did have to adjust the shifting on the XP after a while, but that's pretty common on a new bike during break in.
